Everyone we interacted with at the Merritt House Hotel was charming, helpful, and extremely professional. Rafaela and Tracy at the front desk were great! The location of the hotel is perfect, and the grounds are lovely. 5 stars for these categories. However, the rooms in the Historic Adobe where we stayed for 2 days smelled terrible. Very musty and moldy. We propped a fan in front of a window, left the front door open, bought a bottle of vinegar, and put cups of it all around the suite – everything we could think of to help mitigate the odor. After several hours, it got a little better but never went away. If you're going to charge over $400 per night for a hotel room, the room should not have this issue. For anyone considering staying in the Historic Adobe, I would advise confirming in advance that steps have been taken to fix this issue.

The room had trash from the previous guest in it still and hair all under the sheet. The front desk lady was very helpful when i checked out by helping me bring my bags to the car as I had a baby

Lovely quaint hotel that offered all that we expected. Spacious, comfy room, pleasant staff. Breakfast was basic but included all the essentials. Our one complain was that the hot water in the shower was less hot than we would have liked. Maybe this saves on water usage - it did with us!

Really cute little place tucked tightly into the town. Parking is very squished, and so are the buildings, but overall a nice little hotel. The rooms are decorated with some older style furniture and some of the stuff felt it could of been updated. The bed was extremely squeaky, like if you move its screaming at you, and the only other thing was the curtains could of been thicker for providing privacy into the room.
