Incredibly friendly staff and well organised. So much choice for breakfast. Rooms were spacious, very clean and comfortable. Only issue we had was waiting 25 minutes for drinks one evening in the lounge bar. We chased a couple of times and got them, the waiter offering them free of charge due to the wait. Very kind and generous and certainly wasn't any issue to give negative points for. The rest of our stay was great. Hotel is very close to the station which operates the free trams and buses to get around as well as the airport shuttle.

I had a great experience in Movenpick. It was very nice to stay there during my 6 nights in Basel. It is 5 minutes from SBB walking, the hotel is new, clean and the bedrooms in 7th floor are big. Some tips for next time: The hotel gives 2 bottles of water every night if needed. But, as soon as you open the bottle you can not close it again, so you can not let it inside the minifridge, because it is too big to put in the door. So, maybe you can change the bottle to the ones that can be closed. Nevertheless, the experience was perfect.

Clean room, nice environment, polite employees and modern stylish building. Only my concern; actually, when we were leaving room for city travel, I removed ‘dont disturb’ card and I forgot to hang on ‘clean my room’ card and I was expecting maybe only waste could be taken. Just recommend a basic check. Thanks for good experience

We stayed at this luxury hotel as part of a post-river cruise package. It is very modern room, with a comfortable bed, and adequate space and amenities. The guest staff are very welcoming and friendly, and speak English. The location is within short walking distance to SBB Basel train station and the trolley station. For security, the room cards are programmed for the elevator to only go to the floor where your room is located. Once it scans your card, then the appropriate elevator (A, B, or C) will take you to your floor. For the older and not-so-technically savvy travelers, this can pose a challenge and frustration. The on-site restaurant serves good breakfast, with both hot and cold options, and a good selection of pastries and juices. However, besides my husband and I, another couple who was traveling with us also had an issue with the housekeeping staff not cleaning and preparing our rooms, despite having the service room sign displayed on the door. Unfortunately, this somewhat negatively affected our feelings toward the hotel. Once we notified the front desk, housekeeping came and cleaned our room. Also, the temperature controls in the rooms are difficult to figure out how to adjust the coolness settings in the room without having to contact the main desk. Overall, location and front desk personnel were very helpful and friendly. I would not dissuade anyone from staying at this hotel, but just recommend that if anything is not up to par, to visit the front desk and that they will correct it for you.
