Numa Venice Palazzo Orseolo

Great apartment right on the canal with direct access to the canal if water levels are ok. Hard to find initially but has great views onto the canal and bridge. Not very private if the window is open but great to watch people go by and the gondolas go by. Good support services by Stefano.

2 Star Hotel at best! The only ok part is the location, everything else is not good. When we arrived via boat we were so excited, until you go inside. No lift, which I knew but the steps are small and tight. Carrying luggage to 2nd and 3rd floor is tough with larger bags. The room was fair but worn out and cleaning service consists of sometimes fresh towels and making the bed. The cleaning part was an illusion. The tv rarely worked. We were told to just turn off the main power until it corrected. We did this about 6 times during our 3 night stay. All the reviews about smell and noise are TRUE! I know this part probably comes with staying on the canal but still not pleasant. Flooding does happen when there is a high tide and you have to trench through ankle high water in entrance to get to steps. Every morning at 5am delivery men arrive on boats. We could hear them even with ear plugs. They are super loud and not considerate at all that they are directly under hotel windows. We had an overflowing toilet one evening and Stefano the only contact for the hotel made us trench through that smelly water and search for a plunger to unclog our own toilet. When that didn’t work we had to resort to using a bathroom on a different floor. This with two kids! When we asked for some sort of compensation for our trouble and bad experience he ghosted us. Didn’t even reply to any messages after that. This property is only interested in getting your money. Please believe the bad reviews! In my mind I figured the good ones out weighed the bad, but the good ones must be fabricated because this hotel is not up to par. Either that or some guests must have super low expectations. We splurged on this hotel because it looked so amazing. My advice is run! There are actually really nice hotels near this one that look amazing. It was our first trip to Venice so you’re basically dependent on reviews. Stefano the host (because there is no staff on site) is nice until something goes wrong and then you never hear from him again. I’m not a disgruntled guest. I’m a guest who paid $400 a night for a worn out room, non functioning toilet, flooding, smelly evenings, and an unempathetic host. It’s not every day you get to visit Venice, so it stinks when the most essential part of your trip is not good.
