Poolside Villa - Hostel

I've been travelling round Asia for a while so understand the "sewage situation" however this smell in the loo is beyond GROSS. I haven't slept in the 2 nights I've been here as the smell is so thick. I am enraged by the snail help of reception and lack of initiative. I had to keep asking and I felt they were "annoyed" that I wouldn't drop it. First they said they'd clean and it made it worst somehow, second time they cleaned they took the free shampoo off the side and used it(this is why the smell is soooo bad I expect). This is room 217, it is noisy as there is something above on the roof whirling like crazy. I gave numerous ways to sort this problem as there were no other twin rooms I could change to till today.(I was given another room today however will review it on booking site) Free toiletries in room,towel and TV with English channels. Pool is nice but it's a little difficult to get a sun lounger,there is only about 6. Also pretty cold as it doesn't receive much sun. Staff are very sweet but sometimes the mask drops and you can see their distain and eye rolling at each other. My advice if you don't want people going on is to sort the issue on the first report without the need to be chased up.I don't suggest sarcasm when dealing with the English. They seem very competent in ENGLISH and seemed to understand my Pompey dialect, alot of Asians learn American and Australian English which is slower and easy to understand however English from the s coast not British is faster with different words. I wasn't impressed with the food however very impressed with kitchen manager who understood and sorted the problem instantly. Young lad "x change" , cute bouncy girl and cutie pie "Ah Lita" were the only staff who brough over an ashtray without being asked. My problem with this place as probably with most westerners would be the bars at the windows, Im too paranoid to come back in case there was a fire as we would not be able to get out quickly or at all if I didn't have my son.I understand this is security however after a house fire this to me is an issue. Concerning you need bars on the 3rd floor..... Cleaning in the bathroom is below standards by far. I have suggested urinal cakes for the smell and using cleaning products not shampoo. Get into the corners❣️ No safe and no lift. The bed is big and hard but only 1 usable pillow and a empty duvet cover. Not enough comfort, may I suggest getting rid of the scatter cushion for another pillow, this way cover can be washed and used rather than just a "show piece" and offering a thicker blanket as an option. Place has great potential and I do recommend as I don't expect others to be too bothered about my personal preference. I strongly advise "Mozzisketo" prevention as this place has lots of greenage.
