Quality Inn Amarillo West near Medical Center

Late review, but my family and I stayed there during Christmas. We got the room by using this website that chooses a hotel (out of 3 3-star hotels) based off the amount you want to/can pay. Long story short we got a really good price for a 4 night stay during Christmas. I was very skeptical because the reviews for this hotel are mostly bad. Well, take note...always believe the reviews. We were on the second story, I think in 211. We walked in and it smelt old. It wasn't a bad smell, just old. You could tell the furniture was recently put in, but it wasn't new. The walls...were a disaster. They didn't even bother cleaning off the markings they drew, to measure where the nails go, to hang the headboards. The walls were so dirty that we went to Walmart to get Lysol so I could wash the walls as high as my toddler can reach. I do feel bad for using their towels to do so...those towels were THEE nicest and cleanest thing in that room. We did NOT sleep under the covers. We had our own blankets and pillows that we (luckily) never travel without. We also bought better toilet paper. When leaving, we did our best cleaning up after ourselves. Even took our own trash out. The staff are nice. They seem like nice people trying to make a living at a shotty hotel, and half of them live there. So I really blame the owner and/or manager for not paying more attention to the importance of cleanliness and health. Especially considering the hospitals use this hotel for their patients sometimes. Did we complain and ask for a new room? No. It was Christmas time, there were more important things than dragging all of our stuff, and a toddler, to 2 or 3 different rooms. And I'm sorry to say, but because of how dirty our room was and how run down the rest of the hotel looks, this should not be a 3 star hotel. Needless to say, we will not be going back to the not-so-Quality Inn.

This ironically named hotel is anything but quality. Heat doesn't work. No hot water. Sheets were clean, but blanket was worthless. It was cheap, but so was the hotel up the street where everything worked. Would not recommend.
