Regency Torviscas Apartments Suites

This is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. The receptionist was incredibly passive-aggressive and unhelpful. We had issues from check in to check out. Here are the main issues - At check in, we were told our rooms where not together or on the same floor, after the assumed 4 of us adults were in the one room! I emailed 2 weeks before to request this, but got no response and then lies from the receptionist who kept changing her story on being able to make requests. First it was "you have to email us" which I did, then it was "you have to go through Jet 2" which we also did, then it was "you have the wrong email" which we didn't, then finally it was "well 2 weeks isn't enough time". I have 5 years experience managing hotels and this is rubbish. They do not do breakfast but the bakery next door was offered as a great alternative as was open each day. In reality, this was closed every day apart from today as we checked out! No explanation from staff who recommended this. We booked a hotel with a gym. This gym has equipment that is mostly broken, missing and covered in rust. It'd a depressing area to visit, so if this is important, DO NOT BOOK HERE. The hotel has a spa but you have to book 2 days in advance. There is a far superior spa over the road at the shopping complex called Aqua. There is no aircon in the rooms. Despite being January, I woke each day covered in sweat. The receptionist told us we wouldn't need aircon as well. If you are coming in the summer, don't book here. The housekeeping team do not come on Wednesday and Sundays. However, during our 7 nights, they didn't actually service the room for 5 of the nights, even when our friends rooms were serviced. We also found bad dust under the bed too, so its not being kept clean. Disappointing as we paid for this. The rooms are very dated - with a cd/cassette player in our room lol. The rooms have not been maintained either, with moldy showers, which also don't run water well at all. The shower floor is also in disrepair and bounces, so goodness knows how bad it is underneath. You will see many different issues in each room, with lights with no bulbs, chips and dents everywhere and appliances not working. The barman was very rude. I asked for a Sauv Blanc and he gave a funny look and said "you mean white wine". The bar is evidently not well stocked. The jacuzzi and the swimming pool were very dirty. Yesterday, we saw the hotel owner walking about with a worker, pointing these things out and then the jacuzzi was closed for a day to be cleaned and the pool was cleaned the following day, but how long since then is anyone's guess. We bought a ball to throw about in the pool but never got to use it as nothing like this is allowed in the pool, so families should avoid this hotel too. Everything seemed to be a problem - customer service was horrendous. I can actually forgive most of the above, if I am treated as a valued customer, but we were not. I would recommend changing hotels if you have booked this or avoiding booking altogether. I will say the entertainment team were lovely, so thanks for providing us with this. It's a little far out from the beach that I would have preferred and the hill to climb back up, is a tough one, even for us gym-goers. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

I recently had the misfortune of staying at this purported "award-winning" hotel in Tenerife from November 25th to December 2nd, and my experience was nothing short of a disaster. The online pictures showcased a paradise that was far from the reality awaiting me. Upon entering the room, I was greeted by a damp, mold-ridden toilet that reeked of neglect. To add insult to injury, the toilet was broken, a breeding ground for bugs and cockroaches. Attempting to address these concerns with the hotel staff proved to be an exercise in futility. Their indifference and lack of assistance were astonishing. The room itself was a sauna due to excessive moisture, and despite the sweltering conditions, the only relief offered was a feeble fan. Astonishingly, in this day and age, the hotel proudly claims that fans are the only cooling apparatus available, a fact that was conveniently buried in their outdated description. When I questioned this archaic setup, the staff callously dismissed my concerns, insisting that many hotels in the area lack air conditioning – lie, as my own research contradicted their absurd claim. PLUS they will charge you 80Euros for bringing and AC to the room... Even tho I spent 1500 euros. To make matters worse, the Swedish/Spanish staff, far from being accommodating, were rude and unprofessional. Rather than addressing the numerous issues I raised, they chose to mock me, claiming they had no fan or room service with a smug attitude. No effort was made to rectify the situation, and their lack of empathy was appalling. Adding to the list of grievances, my fan in the room was non-functional for three days. Despite daily assurances that it had been fixed, it remained inoperative. The hotel proudly boasts three awards for being the best in Tenerife, conveniently failing to mention that these accolades date back to 2010. In the current year of 2023, one would expect a modicum of progress and maintenance, but this establishment appears content to rest on its outdated laurels. I strongly advise anyone considering this hotel, especially families with children, to steer clear. The glossy awards and enticing pictures are a deceptive facade, masking the grim reality of a poorly maintained, outdated establishment. Don't be fooled by their reviews either; my background check revealed a plethora of fake reviews, adding another layer to this egregious deception. Save yourself the disappointment and find a more reputable and honest accommodation option in Tenerife.
