I have some conflicting feelings about the hotel room, which is why I gave it 4 stars. (Booked in for 11 nights) It's nice for the price, but not fantastic. We booked as a couple expecting a double bed and received two separate beds. Okay, not a big deal; it really helped us sleep separately when we got sunburned. However, on the first day, both the toilet flush and the safe broke down, necessitating a call to maintenance. Hats go to them for responding fast and resolving the issue, but nonetheless its not a great start. When we arrived, the rooms were tidy but not very clean when it comes to the floor, and the air vent in the bathroom drew air from outside, depositing little strands of hair on our hotel towels underneath where it was stored. Breakfast buffet needs some improvement. Same food every day for 11 days not much selection. The worst part is that the hotel was listed as adults only on the site where we booked, OnTheBeach.co.uk, and there were a lot of kids, so this is something they should look at. Adults Only was the main reason why we choose this Hotel. The view from the rooftop, on the other hand, was spectacular. The pool is lovely. We visited in December, so it wasn't too crowded. We had the pools to ourselves on certain days. Because the hotel is in the heart of the city, two beaches and a variety of activities are within a 5-minute walk. The distance is one of the key reasons we could return. The hotel personnel is extremely pleasant and helpful, and you can schedule activities at the front desk. If you do this, you will not be taken advantage of by certain con artists outside. Overall we had a good time! :)

This is a great place to stay when in Cancun. The hotel is located in the busiest part of the Hotel Zone giving very easy walkable access to all of the "must see" places. This was my 3rd time staying at the Aloft Cancun, and I will definitely stay again next time I'm in Cancun. Rooms are clean, quiet, and have great air conditioning. The open bar from 11a-11p is great as is the rooftop pool with its views.

I left my passport with a travel wallet. In the safe. Checked out. Came back my passport as the other hotel asked me for it. has disappeared when i came back. I do not care about the money in wallet but the passport is a different thing. Asked the the staff they are courteous but nothing.

CHECKIN: We arrived early to this hotel, but the staff retained our bags and gave us bracelets that allowed access to the rooftop pool, and complimentary drinks until our room was ready. Rooftop pool was nice and from one edge you could see the ocean and the streets below. STAFF: They were bilingual and friendly. We paid for the room with points and presented our US passports as identification, without any issue. Bartender made us drinks multiple times from the list of menu (he was apologetic when I asked for a mojito, as they had run out of mint). Nice folks all around. ROOMS: Clean, air conditioned, and our assigned room had a partial view of the beach. The bathroom was modern with ample room. Note: a key card has to be inserted on a wall slot by the entrance in order for some nightstand outlets to work - in case you have trouble charging your phone. Overall, good service. Located next to shops, walking distance from restaurants and a supermarket. We checked out the Museo Maya de Cancun, which was a 15 minute drive from the hotel.

When I went to Cancun with my friend for a quick break from working in healthcare, I found this place after a thorough search online for cheaper hotels without suffering from saving up money. I knew going to Cancun, I wanted to save money on lodging and trying restaurants and bars around the area instead of doing all-inclusive deals from the hotels and spending hundreds of $$$. My stay here was decent. The hotel room was clean and full of everything I needed during my stay. Noise level-wise was okay, given that most people go to Cancun to party and have a great time, so the noise did not bother me. A drag race show in the lobby was fun to watch during my stay before our dinner plans. The hotel is within walking distance of many restaurants, bars, and the beach! If you wanted to do the Xcaret Park adventure, it was across from the building to book the tours, and that's where you have to meet for the bus to pick you up for the tour/adventure. If you want to go to Cancun and save money on lodging but still be close to all the fun stuff, this is your hotel. I enjoyed my stay here!
