Overall this is a great hotel, very safe and in a perfect location if you are doing all the tourist stuff in Rome plus you are super close to the train when it's time to leave. The hop on hop off stop 1 and 2 are both under an 8 min walk away. My only negative is that it never really got cold in the room, we stayed in oct so not bad but not sure how it would be in summer. It is noisy and because it was warm we left the windows open but use the ear plugs and you will get plenty of sleep. I would stay here again.

Positive: - really nice staff, super friendly - nice, big rooms - great location (you can walk everywhere and a lot of busses drive from here) - Terrace is great - really cheap compared to similar hotels in Rome Negative: - the Tram outside can be noisy, depends on the room you have. But they give you earplugs and great coffee for free to make up for that - our bathroom had a small moldy spot, probably went unnoticed so far. Otherwise it was clean. You wont get a better hotel for that price. If we visit Rome again, we will chose this hotel again.

I stayed overnight at this place in July 2013, 10 years ago. I still remember I liked my stay. I enjoyed my early morning moment sitting on the terrace drinking cappuccino while looking at the quiet city below. My younger child still remembers riding the antique elevator in the building.

I had an amazing experience at Roman Terrace, the guesthouse is at 5 minutes by from the Termini Station and at few minutes by walking to all main attractions (Colosseum is at 20 minutes by walking!). Our room (a double standard) was cosy and it has been cleaned every day along my 3 nights stay, the reception is not open all day long but the guys are super friendly and always ready to help with tips about restaurants and suggestions regarding the city. We'll be back for sure!

I stayed in Rome two separate times on my trip to Italy. I booked a room here, and in an expensive, appearingly fancy hotel with 24 hour front desk service. This place was half the rate, a quarter of the size and five times better. You don't have 24 hour service here, but you won't need it. The rate is a bargain. There is a communal terrace, where you can enjoy your morning caffè, or fall asleep to the hum of the street activity. The staff speaks pretty decent English. I should have booked this hotel both times. I've learned my lesson. I'll be booking a room here next time. After reading a three star review complaining about noise, I should say that while the hum of the evening activity is very calming, there is a garbage truck that insists on letting the whole neighborhood know they're there at about 3AM. No worries, though. If you close the windows and turn on the fan, it will be enough to muffle the noise outside so you can sleep. Works for me. That's my perspective, anyway. I'm from Brooklyn.
