Rome Vatican Inn

This is a hotel I would never recommend, as they changed my accommodation without my consent. Here is my experience with this stay: I had booked a five-night stay, but due to a flight delay on the first day, I couldn't arrive on time. The hotel's front desk only operates until 12 AM. In a situation where I couldn't cancel, I had to maintain the reservation for that night. However, when I arrived on the second day, they informed me that I needed to change my location, claiming they had already sent us a message. We explained that we hadn't received any such notification and that changing the location without our consent violated the terms of our booking agreement. I began to contact the booking service, and the communication took quite some time. Shockingly, the hotel front desk responded with an attitude of "What's the problem?" After nearly 40 minutes of back-and-forth communication with the booking service, the hotel's front desk seemed to adopt a more cooperative attitude. They explained that technically, we were supposed to be in the room we were occupying on the second day, but due to issues like electrical problems, they couldn't let us stay there (which doesn't make sense since we had already paid for that room and it should have been reserved for us). However, they said we could move back to our originally booked room from the third day to the fifth day and offered to offset the city tax we had to pay. This discount and the time and cost we had already incurred didn't seem fair to us, but as travelers from out of town, we felt compelled to compromise. Therefore, I would absolutely not consider staying at this hotel again.

This hotel is owned by a group that has 9 other hotels in the city. I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with them as after booking a room for 4 nights, the hotel abruptly cancelled our reservation before our late check-in, leaving us stranded. This incident occurred at night, in a city we were unfamiliar with, making it exceedingly difficult to find alternative accommodation at such an inconvenient hour. The hotel did apologize and refunded our reservation, but this was the least they could do under the circumstances. However, when I contacted them for compensation to cover the unexpected expenses we incurred due to their negligence, my requests were met with complete silence. Despite multiple attempts to reach out via phone and email, there was no response. Understanding that mistakes can happen, the manner in which a business addresses these errors is crucial. The lack of response from Domus Pietro Inn to a situation they caused is unacceptable. It’s disheartening to see a hotel taking advantage of a high-demand market to exhibit such disregard for the impact of their actions on guests. I am dedicating time to write this review to inform potential guests of the unreliable and unprofessional behavior exhibited by the management of this group of hotels. Their lack of accountability and poor customer service has significantly tarnished my perception of them. I urge others to consider this experience when making travel arrangements and to be cautious of the potential for such disruptions.
