The furniture is old-fashioned, the faucet and the hand shower had limestone. There was carpet, maybe being also a convention center that's why. The in-house restaurant has delicious dishes! Within walking distance of bologna central train station, you wouldn't even need to call a taxi driver.

Probably the best value hotel in Central Bologna. Huge rooms, big charming hotel, nice bar and restaurant, good breakfast, 10 minutes walk to Central Train station (1.5 hours to Venice and 1 hour to Florence 🙂), 15 minutes nice walk to historical center (Piazza Maggiore). Wonderful and experienced staff. Will probably need some updating and renovation soon.

I was in Bologna for holiday with friends. I stayed at Royal Hotel Carlton for 1 day. The room was clean and looks luxurious. There is a gym, which we used and was okay. The swimming pool was sadly closed for repairs. The Hotel is about a 15-minute-walk away from the city center. The staff was friendly, we were actually hungry at night and the kitchen was closed but the bartender made us some sandwiches, which were really delicious. The price considering the service was very reasonable. I highly recommend it. PS: I have uploaded the photos separately.

This is a great hotel in a great location. Walkable to the main areas of Bologna. The staff is lovely and breakfast is included. There was a great spread everyday - I recommend ordering a latte from a server instead of getting it out of the machine. The bar is great, affordable drinks, lovely bartenders and a nice outdoor seating area. It is a short walk from the central train station too. They are working on the building so a little construction but it wasn't disruptive to our stay at all. They have a great gym with lots of equipment and free weights. And there is a laundry mat within a short walk if you need to do a quick load of laundry. You don't need to bring your own detergent either, it adds it in to each load! Highly recommend this hotel while in Bologna!
