Overall Very Good hotel with an excellent location and excellent breakfast too. You really can't beat the location...steps away from Piazza Maggiore which is the center of Bologna and walking distance to everywhere you could possibly want to go. It's about a 20 minute level walk to and from the train station (though a bus goes up the main road if you'd prefer and you can get a taxi right outside the hotel if you want too.
We had a suite which was smaller than I had hoped it would be, but was really nicely appointed with a view of the clock tower directly across from the window and the main square to the right. And it was in fact two rooms so we could close the door between the bedroom and have the living room for late night writing or email when the other one of us was sleeping.
For the most part it was a quiet room though there were films showing in the main square every night we were there and the sound could be heard until about midnight in our room which wasn't ideal but that was also about when we were going to sleep so it worked out.
Breakfast was great and our favorite hotel breakfast in Italy. They brought a basket of gluten free items for my wife and the subsequent days we were there they remembered us and automatically brought the gluten free basket and remembered our coffee order as well. Felt like very personal service.
The staff was really nice too and gave us good restaurant recommendations.
We would definitely stay here again.

Really happy with our stay here. Amazing style rooms and communal areas. The staff were soo friendly and helpful. The location couldn’t be any better. All in all, would stay here every time im in Bologna. If possible I would pay for a upgraded room as they looked great and the styling of the rooms is really appealing to me (proper old school Italian style). The couple of eeks I had were 1. The TVs are smart but you are stuck with only a limited number of international stations - why can’t we log in Netflix! (The frame has be taken off also which had left marks on the wall which should be tidied) and 2. Although the parking was very well organised and very convenient, it was confusing when I arrived and I wish there was more communication about the parking situation before I arrived to be less stressed when I arrived
But seriously a great place and very happy with our stay!

The hotel has a super fantastic location, located just at the edge of the main square. It is walkable to pretty much the entire city of Bologna. The room was very comfortable and the staff was very friendly. This was probably the best air conditioning that we have had in all of Europe. The only warning we would give is trying to get a taxi to go to the train station in the morning. We tried to reserve one the night before, and the staff was convinced that we could wait until the morning. In the morning it took awhile for a taxi to accept our request, then it canceled the request after several minutes. Then we could not get another one. We tried to run to the train station with twenty minutes left before our train, and we did not make it. I strongly suggest that you make a reservation for a taxi the night before, because the hotel is in an area where there are a lot of one-way streets and it takes longer for a taxi to get there, making it less appealing for a taxi to accept the request. The walk to the train station is not terrible if you have lots of time to do it
