Staff are super friendly and speak English. The location is a bit far from the center of Tokyo but the neighborhood has a really nice charm to it! There are also really great places to eat not so far from the hostel. I’ve stayed in the shared rooms and they are always clean and the company is nice! They provide lockers and you can bring your own padlock or rent one from reception. They also provide bedsheets and breakfast. I highly recommend this hostel for a more quiet and relaxed vacation on a budget.

The rooms are pretty good. You have to make your own bed, but the mattress is comfortable enough. Blankets are short though, although I was provided a second blanket when I asked. Location is excellent, short walk from the temple. Staff is more or less good, except for the guy who seems to work nights. Quite rude, and seems annoyed every time you have to interact with him. Quite honestly made me very frustrated. He seems to hate his own life, and will make it your problem.

The rooms were disgustingly dirty. It smelt wet and damp even with the window open. I found bedbugs in the room. I tried to show the worker but I don’t think he believed me, which means likely nothing will be done to clean it. However they moved our room to a slightly cleaner room. All the rooms have carpet that is very dirty. They don’t wash the blanket between people. There is a good social area and the staff are nice. I would never stay here again.

EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT Value for money!! My hostel share room was spotless, and had plenty of storage space under my lower bunk. 151 for 7 nights was an insane value I’d gladly do again. Like any hostel it depends on the roommates; I had a second outlet only I needed to use so that upgrades the experience. Bathroom outside of the room that locks was quite the experience, bring a lanyard for your room key!! Staff were very kind in helping me in to the room at odd hours when I forgot the key haha. I didn’t do any of the meetups but they seemed fun!! One note: closest conbini is hidden in a nondescript entrance about 200-300 yards from the entrance, a convenience I wish I’d taken advantage of if I’d known about it. BIGGEST CON IS LOCATION: probably a ten minute walk MINIMUM from the Ginza line at tawaramachi upon arrival. Best bet is getting to Akihabara station and transferring to the Tsukuba (also has an odd last train time because of the transfer) so keep that in mind upon arrival. Staying so close to sensoji is pretty cool however, and it’s a nice walk over to the sky tree as well. This place is undefeated for solo travelers, THIS IS YOUR BEST BUDGET OPTION!! There were rooms but idk how they comp to business hotels in price so probably cool for couples but again location. 8.5/10 review
