A hotel, especially a high end hotel, should be a great place for a romantic getaway. There should be life in the restaurant and bar followed by quiet from neighboring rooms when you’re trying to relax and sleep. This hotel is beautiful and very picturesque. The rooms are beautiful too but there’s a problem, the rooms allow a lot of noise from outside the room into the room. We experienced this last night when a dog owner decided to leave a dog in a room. The dog wasn’t very happy about this and let everyone on the floor know about it. The hotel wouldn’t reach out to the dog owner about this and instead moved impacted guests. This morning, the same dog was abandoned again and woke up guests again. The hotel did not take appropriate action to resolve the issue and paying guests had their night ruined. This is a shame because the property is great. Poor handling of incidents like this will tarnish a good brand and property. My wife and I didn’t get the stay we paid for. Hopefully the hotel management will learn from this. Buyer beware…

Just at the heart of the city, a few steps from railway and bus station. We enjoyed a full day event meeting. The breakfast and lunch both were very rich, delicious and rich. Everywhere was clean, I like the decoration, too. Friendly helpful staff. Can’t say anything for the rooms but I would like to stay in the hotel for the next time.

Stayed for three nights and had a lovely stay. The room was very nice, bed comfy, shower very nice. We were fortunate to have an awesome view of the city. We used the gym, which was perfectly well appointed. The breakfast was extremely busy over the weekend days we were there, but they did a really good job of ensuring seats were available and food was constantly restocked. The variety and quality of food was extremely impressive and the breakfast was a highlight. One review on Google Maps noted the left luggage is insecure. Happy to report this is not the case. Whilst bags are left in a side room (it's next to reception, but it's not secure), there are (free) lockers for valuable items. This was convenient and very useful for our final day.

I just want to extend my utmost gratitude to Viola at reception! I had checked out and realized I had forgotten something at the hotel after I had already left. Viola went above and beyond to help locate my ear buds. Thank you so much for being kind, patient and persistent in searching! I always enjoy staying at the Scandic Grand Central and can only say wonderful things about this clean, conveniently located hotel with fantastic staff!
