I would have given an overall 5-star rating if not for the shower door in room 683. However, the hotel fixed the door when informed. Location was good. Staff were polite and efficient. Although the hotel is quite old, the rooms were clean and sufficiently warm. Value-for-money. We did not use the general facilities so I am unable to comment on that.

Very nice hotel! I was surprised. Amazing staff, the amenities were great. Sauna, gym, pool. The room was cleaned daily. Only thing was that during night the bathroom plumbing started to smell for some reason plus the carpets could be replaced. Overall had a great time.

When: Mid January 2024 Season: Winter average 0 degrees C Room facing the inner courtyard. Room 570. Did not try the hotel breakfast. 7/11 is across the hotel. Several breakfast spots (早店) within 10mins radius. Service oriented staff! Took a seven seater premium cab from the airport (PEK) for 290 RMB which took about 30mins. Hotel is nearby the famous Wangfujing Street for shopping, Uniqlo is in apm mall Wangfujing Street. Famous restaurants like Quanjude (Beijing Roasted Duck) and Dong Lai Shun (Mutton Hotpot) at Wangfujing Street. For the price you pay, this hotel is well equipped - hot water works, room is nice and warm. Not too toasty, not too cold. Very quiet rooms, carpeted floors. Air purifier is available in the room. Has a separate shower and bathtub which has hot water. Even the wash basin tap has hot water. Smell of smoke is unavoidable but the air purifier works well and the smell gradually subsides after about an hour.

Located near several subway stations at the edge of Wang Fu Jing and at rather close proximity to Forbidden City and other popular tourist checkpoints is probably this hotel's greatest merit. Aside from location, everything else is rather jaded. the decor would have been grand back in the 90s and hopefully, ongoing renovations will bring it back to its past glory. Although smoking is prohibited throughout, smokers nevertheless still smoke in their rooms and unfortunately you may be subjected to passive smoking through the rather poor ventilation. Breakfast was adequate and didn't change much for my 7 nights stay. Chinese and western options were offered. Similarly service is acceptable and professional, befitting its status. I sincerely hope they will continually improve and live up to their 5 ⭐ status though.

We were placed here by our agency for the first leg of our trip to adopt our daughter. The service was excellent and the staff was very helpful and friendly. When I lost my glasses at the Forbidden City, they helped me find an optician to get new a new pair. The breakfast was truly international, with eggs and bacon for the Americans, beans on toast for the English, and even lutefisk for the Scandinavians. The open dining area was a little noisy, but the atomsphere it created made up for the inconvenience.
