Went with family for the lunch buffet.. Was very disappointed. Everything was awfully spicy. Not a single dish was palatable. The spice for so much that you couldn't know one dis from the other. Pity any guest with a flair for bland European food, there was nothing! To cap it all the price was way above the average. The Chef and F& B guys need to be sound out. Taj is supposed to be an Indian chain, and the food was far from Indian... My wife who is an Indian vowed never to come here again. That says it all!!!!

Sea facing property.. Love the view. Recharge you.. Wow. They maintained in proper way. No words to describe beauty of this place.. In hotel they are also up to mark, but out side natural beauty is wonderful..

Good tasty food, good and nice rooms, big parking. Welcome is not that much great. The front office staff is not that welcoming but other ground staff is friendly like the restaurant and housekeeping. The hotel light is a bit darker if there was a better light I think the hotel might have been better(my personal opinion)

Indian food was very tasty. Open space dining options are rare. Less European food options. Indian, Sri Lankan, Chinese and Japanese are available. Air conditioner is fixed to maximum output. Some Autumn / spring clothing recommended to wear in restaurant dining. No valet parking available. Hotel Entrance to the car park very uncomfortable and dangerous.

The Grand Old Lady of Colombo…. Was a pleasure to be here. The fabled warm Taj service at its best in a country of smiles and friendly faces. The Crab Factory restaurant gave us a superlative dining experience, one of the best ever in our gourmet journeys across the globe. Ports of Call all-day dining is great for breakfast. The staff is extremely helpful and manages with aplomb peak hour service. Shout out to Chaminda, Nilanka, Malaka, Uddin’s, Dileka, Usha, Asiri and the friendly Dilhara. The one stand-out disappointment was room service. Extremely slow and sub-standard fare. The spa has a very limited menu, but the masseuse was proficient. This is an old hotel, and while it’s great to have the sprawling rooms, they could do with upgrades and more modern amenities. The bathroom is sub-optimally planned; a shower seat, extra towel and clothes hanging rails, an extended basin counter, larger dust bins, a full-length mirror are basic additions I hope they consider. As also in the room, the closet space is weird, the fridge small, no mini bar amenities and no stationery. With the new ITC hotel coming up next door and the Shangari-La down the road, I hope Taj will stand up to its name and fame….. we love you and want you to!
