Fantastic hotel, in a beautiful city! Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. They let us into our room early on check in after a long journey from Spain. Much appreciated! Wonderful room, and amazing location. Parking in Edinburgh is an (expensive) pain, but the hotel offer discount parking at St James Quarter, just round the corner. I'll be back soon and this establishment will very much be part of the experience, instead of just somewhere to lay your head after sightseeing, eating, drinking etc. Oh, gorgeous Scottish Breakfast too!

They upgraded us to an amazing suite. Unfortunately it had very lukewarm water so could enjoy the bath or shower much. The restaurant avocado toast wasn’t very good, but other drinks and menu items were good there. The hotel and restaurant staff were friendly and accommodating.

The Cheval was an absolutely beautiful hotel! The staff was nice and extremely helpful. The hotel is in the perfect location to see both the new town and old town which makes it easy to walk the entire city. If you have the opportunity, definitely try the Hawksmoor restaurant. The atmosphere was amazing and the food was incredible. One of the best steaks we have ever had.

Stayed at this place on September 26-28th. The room is actually like an apartment. Very spacious with all amenities. Even a washer dryer. We were able to use it by downloading the hotel app. The bed was very comfortable. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast is grand. On the first day my husband had the full Scottish breakfast. Our room was booked with it included. Great service. Extremely clean environment. All in all the hotel was great! However, there was a storm -Magnus. For the 2 nights we were there it was very windy. I’m mentioning this because the windows or whatever is placed to protect the windows made such a loud noise. Almost like a child playing on a huge drum set. It was impossible to sleep . Second night managed to get some sleep out of sheer exhaustion. Management got to take care of this before further storms prevent customers from sleeping. Still gave it 5 stars because this was not foreseeable by the hotel. Please pay close attention to the bill. We did and it was immediately corrected.

Stayed here October 27th to 30th and had the absolute best time at this hotel. The staff is 10/10. Christine and Ellen at the front desk are of particular note, they were so welcoming and informative. Everyone is so sweet, kind and ready to give recommendations. We'd just gotten engaged that day in Glencoe, and the team sent up a bottle of bubbly for us to enjoy. Cleaning was top notch as well! Extra umbrellas on hand in the lobby for guests was really useful. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment which was so spacious. Helpful to have the washer and dryer. The bluetooth sound system was a bonus! Fully stocked kitchen was great for drinks and snacks in the room. Still able to get cleaning everyday too so I never felt like I was staying in an Airbnb. There was slight noise coming from the street, maybe a club a block or so away. I sleep with earplugs so wasn’t an issue at all. You are right near the public transit for ease of access. But major shopping is just a few blocks away. And it's an easy 10 ish minute walk to Old Town. Price was on par with less desirable hotels, so I felt like I got a good deal. So many positive things to say about our stay here.
