stayed here last year based on the proximity and views of the white house. was under the impression that the top floor was open to hotels guests but unfortunetly it is only used for events. historic and great hotel non the less, could not even begin to imagine all world leaders that have stayed here.

My husband and I celebrated our honeymoon, and there was attention to detail in everything. If you need to pamper yourself (everyone needs to sometime), THIS is the place to go. This is the best hotel experience I've ever had. I highly recommend it.

My wife and I arrived for our first visit to the Hay-Adams yesterday. They must have run out of rooms because we were given two twin beds. I have traveled all around the world and have seen two queen beds in hotel rooms many times, but never two twins. They did not ask if twin beds would be acceptable, but provided the room to us as though it was what we booked. When I asked why we had twin beds, the front desk said that must be what I chose when I booked online. Last night felt more more like staying in a college dorm than a luxury hotel. The bathrooms are old and outdated with peeling wallpaper, and we slept separately on undersized beds built for someone at least six inches shorter than me. They did correct this for our second night stay, but I would give this warning to anyone booking here: you can choose a type of room when reserving online - e.g. Deluxe Room - but not it’s configuration. If you want to ensure you don’t end up with dorm room beds, I would call in your reservation instead of using the website. My lesson: I should have gone to the Willard.
