My husband and I stayed for 4 nights to celebrate his 50th birthday! I called the hotel before booking to learn more about the area (we're from Vancouver, BC so it was a ways away!) Nick was so incredibly helpful at the concierge desk, suggesting things and booking things for me before I had even made my reservation! Beverly was also very helpful. So we started with a really great experience! And, our stay there was the same. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. The room was great and really clean (I am picky!) The pillows were extra comfortable and that's something I usually hate in hotels! Room service was fast and great. Honestly, everything about our stay was fantastic! If we come to Boston again, there's no doubt, we'll be staying here again!

This place is gorgeous inside and has a very classy feel. My fiance and I stayed a night for our trip to Boston. We arrived later than our check-in time, but it wasn't a problem. They even held onto our bags for us well after check out since we had a few hours to kill before our bus ride home. The rooms are clean and warming the beds and pillows clean and fresh. I liked the little sticker on the toilet paper. They have a bar and kitchen that are open well into the night with a delicious menu. Only down side was there was a wedding party or something going on when we arrived and many of the guests were very loud and quite drunk, making our quiet evening a bit hard to enjoy. But the staff were wonderful and did their best to make us comfortable despite the chaotic atmosphere.

Let me start by saying… this place is old and the rooms reflect that. For the price you’re paying for, you’re getting 5 star service and location, and that’s it. Our first room (407) had a 1.5 inch gap under the door. When we turned off the lights we could see into straight into the hallway. The bathroom was also extremely outdated and had issues draining. That being said, when I went downstairs to share some of the issues I I was having the staff went above and beyond. They explained that the building was 120 yrs old but didn't hesitate to accommodate. They were understanding and kind. They let me look at another room and had the issue taken care of, quickly. The new room was equally outdated but the door felt secure and the bathroom worked properly. We only stayed one night for a night in the city, any longer would have been a bit rough.

The service from the staff is amazing and the location in Boston is amazing, but the rooms were disappointing. The tv was broken, it had two blue lines going through it, like someone had hit it at some point. And the bathroom door would not stay closed. No matter how hard you pushed it closed or if you locked it, the door popped open by itself within seconds of closing it. The bed’s headboard had scratches in it and tiny holes as well, almost like a dog was scratching and chewing it up. Also like other reviews have mentioned, the rooms are outdated/older which is disappointing for a 4 and a 1/2 star hotel in a prime Back Bay location. Overall, the service from the staff, convenient location, and cleanliness were the only things I enjoyed here during my one night stay. Also this might be too picky, but they could position the bed to see the city/potentially the Prudential Tower while laying down, felt like a missed opportunity with the way it’s currently faced so you see a wall of the Lenox.
