Above all, Selim (the manager) and his staff were always very helpful. He helped us by suggesting ways to get around the city, things to see and so on. When there was a mix up over beds and the provision of breakfast, everything was settled quickly and without fuss. And of course what makes the hotel is its location. The main Sultanahmet area is a short walk away. There have been several reviews where people have complained about the level of cleanliness. Certainly in some areas (like the bathroom) things could definitely be improved. But it's more than that. There are lots of little things that simply need tidying up like the ill fitting screw on the door handle, the door handle of the main entrance (which came off), the grouting in the bathroom. In themselves, they just give the feeling of a place which needs a revamp.

Stayed for a week here, wonderful staff including the cleaners, everyone is so friendly. Reception always helpful and very knowledgeable of things to do in Istanbul. Location was perfect, 5 mins from Blue Mosque and we also had a beautiful sea view from our room. Lots of popular sites within walking distance.

DO NOT BOOK Reina hotel, Lola hotel or Laila hotel! They all fail to meet even minimum sanitary standards and are scammers. Regardless of which hotel you book, they will accommodate you in any of these hotels, so read reviews of all of them. We booked a triple room at Reina hotel and were accommodated at Lola hotel. The were two good things about the room: location and a kettle that works (no mugs anyway). Everything is the room was either broken or dirty and broken. The main problem was hygiene. No blankets were provided, bed linen had a lot of stains, all the surfaces were dirty and full of dust and mold. They were doing a daily cleaning that was nothing more than making a bed. They even lifted dirty towels off the floor to put them on the bed again instead of changing them. The bed was broken too, with a U-shaped mattress. We left after 3 days after having booked them for 6 days. The guy at the reception didn't have any objections about sanitary claims and told us that we would be refunded by Agoda. We left. Unfortunately, when we reached out to Agoda, they failed to negotiate a refund with the hotel as the hotel disagreed with the refund.
