Went here for a spa date with a close friend. Natalie was on reception and was so helpful, friendly and accomodating. Also had a chat to her about fitness and she was able to put my mind at ease about a few things I've struggled with surrounding body image. Really easy to talk to and very professional. Would definitely book PT session's with her if I was living in York. Really lovely spa facilities, not super busy mid afternoon and very relaxing. Please pass this review onto Natalie :)

Booked two rooms for New years Eve on arrival. I was told only one room was ready and the other was still being cleaned, which was not a problem as we were heading straight into York. We returned at 18:20 and was told the room was still not ready??? So had to wait another 25min. Then when it was finally read the two rooms were a totally different standard when asking why she said it was because one room was £10 less a night than the other one which as its a really expensive hotel could not work that out. And we were not informed of this when making the booking. Our room which was the best out the two had no air conditioning and room was really hot. Windows did not open, had make up on pillows which had to be changed and shower tap come off when turning shower on. To round things off we had either a water or heating pump going off and on all night. Breakfast is very average with not a lot of choice. When we spoke to the manager both times she didn't seem interested. I've stayed here for business and pleasure but don't think I'll be staying again which is a shame as the reception area is really nice and it's in a good location.

First off it’s a minute walk from the train station which is really handy if you are on public transport. The gardens are wonderful and they are very picturesque. The room we originally booked was a double garden view but because we arrived early they upgraded the room to a suite which was a pleasant surprise. The room was of course immaculate and the neutral tones felt relaxing. The bed was comfy. Bathroom was pristine and the shower was lovely too. The hotel is stunning and amazing to walk around at night. Breakfast had a good varied selection. Overall you get what you pay for which is 5 star.

This hotel has fabulous location direct at the railway station of York, and the fabulous history. Its an ancient Victorian House as I understood and it was even baptized by the queen Victoria, she even stayed there. On the other side is a beautiful park. The place is really quite. We had a very nice and friendly welcoming by Anna at the reception who helped with a room choice and all informations we needed about York .All receptionists are very friendly and a great advice. I want to say thank you . The room was cozy and well equipped with a garden view. There is a leisure club in the hotel which we used with great pleasure. I would really like to come back to this place and highly recommend it
