Great central location very friendly staff and well appointed rooms with modern TV, Aircon and general layout. The bed was extremely comfortable and the pool was suitable for the location. It’s probably a 10 minute walk into town or beach however, there is a 7-Eleven right nearby

Unfortunately had a bad experience at The Pela. Upon arriving to our villa, we noticed a really strong smell of mould and dampness. We asked to be relocated to another room, villa or apartment as we didn’t feel comfortable sleeping in this villa. The evening staff were not helpful and responsive and we waited for over an hour until we got into another room. They were reluctant for us to change rooms and wanted to only move us for one night and then back into the mouldy villa. The evening staff told us they were fully booked, although we noticed a lot of the apartments were vacant and some of the villas were empty too. We insisted we will not stay there as it’s unpleasant and a health risk. In the end they moved us to a two bedroom apartment instead but told us we weren’t allowed to use the second bedroom- a comment I find very rude and irrelevant as the only thing we required was mould free accomodation. Whilst we were in the door way waiting to be let inside, we could see and hear a staff member aggressively spraying the entire unit with air freshener to mask any of the smells. The rooms were a little old, couch and tables had stains, and the Main Street was right near our bedroom so we could hear the traffic. Not like the photos at all! Once the air freshener wore off, we could still smell mould and dampness throughout the apartment. We ended up staying the night and then moved to a different hotel. The morning staff were more helpful and provided us with a refund for the rest of stay. We noticed there were barely any guests in this resort apart from us and one other couple. So much for being fully booked out.

Good + apartment style hotel with individual rooms, aircon and TV in all rooms +there is a kitchen, fully equipped with induction stove, pots and pans, all the utensils you need (minus a scissors, for some reason). even a coffee pod machine with coffee pods that are restocked each day + amenities and toiletries in the bathrooms + it is near Big C, Super Cheap, 7-11 convenience stores/supermarts... so you can buy daily stuffs and put them in the fridge + short walk to the beach + everyone is courteous + wifi is strong and fast (there were two routers in the apartment) Not so good - you have to walk up a slight slope to get to the main road, cross the busy road to get to the beach - there is a severe lack of hooks in bathrooms, no clothes line either - the pots provided has scratches, and it is teflon coated. this should be replaced as it is a health hazard - some parts are not dusted or cleaned properly - window blinds, top of fridge, as there is a fine coat of dusts on them - you can hear traffic at night occassionally, from loud tuk-tuks blasting music to people hollering overall, a very good place to stay. it is mostly quiet and the place looks good. there are some shortcomings for sure but no place is perfect.

A charming little oasis of calm. All low rise traditional Thai style rooms and bungalows around a lovely lush courtyard garden with two pools. The accomodation is outstanding - the bungalows are extremely well appointed with bedroom and lounge, plus terrace. TV in bedroom and lounge. Pool is a few paces from your door. The staff are charming and helpful. Was very quiet while we were there - pool bar didn't really open, but you can have whatever you want if you ask. Limited choice at table service breakfast, but very nice all the same. It's a 10 or 15 minute walk to the beach at Kamala, where there are plenty of bars and restaurants to cater for all tastes.
