I am pretty disappointed about this Ritz Carlyon(Hua Mao Center). It feels like a 3 star, not 5 star or Ritz Carlton. Location: not downtown Transportation: really hard to get taxi Interior design and amenities: old and last century like. Pretty disappointing Food: so-so, disappointing Service: staff is nice and service is good. The only nice point of this stay. View: no nice view, too close to apartments nearby. Stayed on 11th floor.

6 stars to the hotel restaurant chef. He is one of a kind, and I really appreciated the special service he offered.l I was at the hotel for a period of 6 weeks, and he served a special, made different dinner for me at the lounge every day. Service like this makes a traveler very happy, and this makes sure that I will always use this hotel whenever I have to be in Beijing.

Beautiful hotel! Spotless rooms and very friendly staff. Had a very relaxing massage at the spa which was conveniently open late (which is nice for people with kids). Had an amazing steak dinner at Barolo where the service and food was top notch. Brunch at Aroma was also a nice treat. Will definitely be back when I'm in Beijing again!

I chose this out of the two Ritz as it was more convenient fer me. I stayed at the JW just beside it on my previous trip too. The hotel is frankly a little dated but it still has it’s charm. Most importantly, service was generally good and friendly. I took a late flight from Singapore and arrived around 1am. Check in was smooth and efficient, and smiley (at 1am!). Concierge was also kind enough to allow a friend who came in a day after, a much earlier check in as she took a red eye. Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast is one of the better ones in terms of taste. Variety is limited, but in China, often the hotels’ spread LOOKS fantastic but tastes lousy. Fruits were also sweet. Gym is good and the receptionist was helpful to accompany me and show me where the drinks and towels are although it was intuitive, made me feel welcome! Convenience wise, it is just across Hua Mao and close to the SKP malls and subway.
