This isn’t your normal hotel. It’s a serene religious retreat that houses an old Chapel and provides the rooms on a Bed & Breakfast basis. Since it’s not a normal hotel, you’ll not have the amenities like room service. But you get a lot of benefits that you don’t get in a hotel. Rooms which are larger than normal London rooms. Parking (not free, payment using mobile) in a protected compound. Good free continental breakfast. Polite service. Peaceful and serene location, which you can’t believe is in London. A historical location with hundreds of years of history associated with it. Overall it’s a great place to stay.

Have stayed here a number of times over the past 4/5 years. More often than not I book direct, but occasionally through a booking site when I have a voucher to use. I've noticed when we book indirectly we get given the poorer rooms. I asked on booking 9 days in advance if I could have a quiet room and received an email saying it may not be possible. On arrival I was told they were only about 60% occupied so had hoped for a nice and quiet room. No such look I was allocated room 31 above the dining room and although the bedroom did overlook the garden it was close to the road and the road noise was also loud from the bathroom overlooking the end of the car park. The room was extremely small and whilst it had an air-conditioning unit this was faulty so didn't work. Fortunately I was on my own as my wife couldn't make the trip, otherwise it would have been extremely cramped with the room being so small. I mentioned the above to the lady on reception and was told as I'd booked a standard super king that's what you get. Well I can't see any other other super king on the website other than a garden one. In general her customer service skills were quite appalling, especially compared to the male who checked me in. If this is how things are going, I honestly can't see me booking to stay here again in the future Edit in response to the reply from RFSK: Having stayed with you a number of times previously I'm aware that some rooms are noisier than others, hence why I requested to be allocated a quiet room when I booked. I would have thought booking 9 days before my stay that this would have been possible, but I got the impression that you couldn't be bothered doing so. It's a shame, but this along with the receptionist's attitude has soured how I view RFSK

Comfortable, quiet, affordable and friendly place to stay just a few minutes walk from DLR station. We walked to and from Liverpool Street Station which is fine if you have the time. Breakfasts were amazing, so much choice and great coffee.

We stayed in this hotel in April, 2023 for 2 nights, room 32, and check out with a headache due to lack of sleep. I regret that I didn't look at the reviews before we booked this hotel for 2 nights. We couldn't sleep for 2 nights due to the constant noise from outside through the old windows without any isolation/gaskets, please see the attached picture the view from window in our room. Not recommended to choose the room with a city view, they are facing very busy road and very noisy with a lot of cars and trains. We noted this to their reception, and they offered to us another room for extra £20 which was not acceptable. Also very noisy from banging doors until very late.. Someone entered our room during our absence (cleaning staff I think), we didn't expect that. We noted that out beds were re-made, and our water bottles were removed, not sure why, as this hotel provides the drinking and sparkling water to the gests. Also please be aware that you needed to authorise £100 on your card at check in for damages, it is part of their terms and conditions. Our room was very small without TV but clean and warm. Continental breakfast only. However, I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends, great location, clean, etc. but please see some of the disadvantages above and book the room with garden view.
