Perfect location, rooms were clean, staff were friendly and everything worked in the hotel. Even though near the train line the noise level was fine and didn't disturb my sleep and I knew before hand it was close to line as been before so knew it wouldn't be an issue. Will always choose this place when I want this side of the city.

The air conditioning did not work. We were not able to move to another room. We were given a filthy fan to use. The drain in the shower was blocked. The room smelled of mildew. The staff were surly. The service in the restaurant in evening was terrible - a member of staff shouted at me! The breakfast was not fully stocked on the 3 mornings we were there. Apparently we were staying in a Super room. I hesitate to imagine what an experience in an ordinary room is like. On the last morning, adding insult to injury, there was no hot water for a shower. We were supposed to be having a lovely weekend in London. We did not. We will not be staying at this hotel again. I will be seeking compensation for this appalling stay.

We ate in the restaurant then went to the room to get ready to go see our show that we booked. Within an hour of us both eating the same meal in the restaurant we were both ill, vomiting and diarrhoea which lasted for about 12 hours. We missed the show, didn't get any sleep which then ruined our plans for the following day and Travelodge will not take responsibility. It was obviously food poisoning, I have had it before and this was exactly the same. When discussing this with the staff on reception the following morning I was told "it can't be food poisoning from us as our burgers are precooked and we just warm them up" maybe that right there is the problem. Discussing service. Will never stay at a Travelodge again.
