Venice Romantic Views San Marco

I’ve never stayed anywhere that I could not wait to leave a bad review. Update: Okay, I left this place. The WiFi didn’t work and he was pestering me to pay the 15€ in tax again after I paid it online. I supplied the receipt. Then I said, I’ll call the police for you and he dropped it. They kept my €68 (the one that they double charged me on) but I wanted to update everyone, I found this place “Hotel marte” for €40 more a night and it’s absolutely beautiful! Second set of pics are the place that was €40 more, so you know to look around. Main review: I NEVER leave bad reviews on hotels, I usually only bother to review the enjoyable spots but… BUYER BE WARE! They lie on their listing both with cancellation policy and with the price. They charge €68 a night, great price but there is a hidden €68 surcharge. For what, you ask? TOWELS, is what the manager said, for towels and things. Lol. I am 1 person staying 1 night. It was supposed to be 2, that’s why I missed the extra charge when booking. I immediately tried to cancel, called the apartment guy first and said, hey I booked this by accident. It’s supposed to be 2 nights not 1 and 68€, not €145 (after taxes, etc) They said, sorry, nothing they could do, wouldn’t wave the €68 euro cancelation fee. I called Priceline, who directed me to booking .com and then was told they would contact hotel on my behalf to get the fee waved. This is usually very easy. I’ve never heard of a hotel, especially in Italy, saying no. They said no. So I show up at 2pm to stay and they guy says “well, you said you wanted to cancel” I said yes, but you wouldn’t wave the fee, I’m not going to eat €70 euros! He says, I’ll send someone down. So, they do and then, THEY ASKED ME FOR CITY TAX AGAIN, lol! So, here’s the deal, the room is WAY basic, no vibe, no view, fine if you are paying less! I stayed with a canal view last night for €20 less. A canal view at Belle hotel was €120 a night, November 9, 2023. DO NOT book here, I promise you can get better for your money, even on a weekend/last minute booking. Venice is small and you can walk everywhere. Who cares if you are near the square, the river is better as are the cafes closer to Rialto bridge. This room looks like a college apartment. No “Venice” vibe about it. I am writing this and thinking, I may still check out. It really is a sham. I will enclose photos, I hope I can get my point across. Safe travels #kuntytravels Ps. They have other units that might be worth the stay BUT, when someone owns a building and won’t give you a refund 10 seconds after you booked and the price was doubled… you know why!

Fantastic!! A small penthouse for 6 people very well used, with a very complete small kitchen and a very pleasant terrace. Everything was very clean and the staff was very friendly and pleasant. And the best thing is the location, two steps from San Marcos Square!! We loved it, 100% recommended
