This was our second trip to this amazing resort. I think the best compliment a property can receive is if their guests return! Come here if you want a relaxing vacation with EXCEPTIONAL service. They combine that with a very laid-back vibe, lucious landscaping and amazing food. You really do feel like you're in the jungle! We had a fantastic Tamales class with Chef Chavez and a private visit to a Cenote which was outstanding. My husband also had a few massages at the Spa which he loved. We were also lucky enough to see some spider monkeys on the property! The only downside is the beach is a little rocky, but they provide water shoes. Playa del Carmen is very close if you want a trip into town for shopping, nightlife, etc. The resort can provide you a taxi in just a few minutes. I think the unsung heroes of this resort are the housekeeping staff!! 2x a day your villa is taken care of. Spotless. Please tip them well if you go!! I've also visited their sister property in St. Lucia (Sugar Beach) which is very dramatic and luxurious. It's a little pricey, but worth it. I wouldn't hesitate to book.

Wow, what a beautiful small resort in the jungle. From the moment we arrived to the time we checked out, all of the staff were welcoming, friendly and went out there way to ensure we had comfortable stay. If you are looking for a luxury, relaxing, quiet chilled out resort, this is the place for you. You will be greeted with a coconut and lime drink which is very delicious. We stayed all inclusive the food, drinks and room service were tasty. Unlike some hotels we stayed before this hotel the room service does stop at 10:30pm, not a problem for us but just something to bare in mind. Our Villa was very close to a lovely beach which has enough chairs and beds for everyone. We celebrated our wedding anniversary here and they made us feel very special, too many people to thank but I would especially like to thank Jacqueline for showing us around the resort and Angel for the welcome drink shot and natural soaps. These are a lovely gift to bring back home and remind us of our stay. Also thank you to the manager Pedro for the lovely welcome anniversary message. Our room was kindly upgraded and very clean, it has everything you need and the mini bar was fully stocked. Our room had a huge tub, shower indoors and one outdoors for the extra jungle experience. All villas come with your own private plunge pool and hammock which is great for those that want to just stay in and enjoy quality time with their loved ones. A small little gym which made my husband happy and an amazing spa. I love that they have natural products. Two restaurants and their was a Mexican theme event which had lovely food and great decorations. Can’t wait to come back. Thank you

The service at this resort is like none other. The whole staff goes far and beyond to accommodate all of your needs. They are always ready to service with a genuine smile and eagerness to make your stay more comfortable. I highly recommend this resort if you want to be pampered. You will not experience this type of service anywhere else. Thanks for an unforgettable 20th wedding anniversary vacation Viceroy!!!

Could be such a great hotel - most beautiful grounds imaginable. Restaurant is horrible with bad food and drinks. You have to eat on site because everything is far away, so that killed it for us. Airport food in the middle of a beautiful jungle paradise. Also it costs just as much in fees and add-ons as the already very expensive room (almost $1K). Staff seemed friendly but overcharged us at any opportunity.

The resort itself is lovely and a sanctuary of sorts. The room was an enclave with everything you needed - you didn’t have to leave the room - you had your own pool, an outdoor shower, and a very comfortable bed. Our room needed the a/c to be fixed and while they did improve it - it never got as cool as I like it. We also had overnight and morning rain - which caused dripping from the thatch roof onto our bed. They do need to spray for mosquitos better - but they provide bug spray in the room and in the bathrooms. The best part of the trip was the service and food. Jimmy was an amazing waiter and really took our trip to the next level. Most of our meals were with him. Our breakfast service was provided by Luis and he was also quite good at his job and made us feel welcome. The head chef was also amazing! He actually shared a recipe with me and I think that is super generous and makes you feel like family! The spa was ok - it is much too hot of a climate to have a spa treatment without so much as a fan to provide a breeze. While I rank the place a solid 4.5-4.6 — it wouldn’t take much to make it a 5 star experience!
