I've only used one room in this hostel and it was a bit different (8 bed female dorm; 3 double bunks, but my bed and another girls bed were on the floor beside each other/pushed together - a temporary fixture?), but I got lucky that all the room mates were really nice. Separate wash room and toilet, both up to standard. Hostel is close by the train station and a shopping centre. The reception staff were a pleasure to deal with and always friendly and helpful - go Tom!! :)

Rooms were ok, though it was a bit difficult to get the bathroom and showers to lock. The kitchen is not well located in the basement with the laundry, which was very humid. The kitchen is also not very clean with very few dishes and utensils available (you need to take them from the breakfast area). We also had to request a kitchen card to get access, of which there were only about 3 in the entire hostel. The lounge area is nice for chilling and it’s quite close to the station. This might be because we were unlucky, but we had trouble sleeping on two of the nights due to disruptive roommates, one of whom smoked in the toilets in the middle of the night. Staff were helpful in dealing with the situation and gave us free drink cards.

The rooms were nice, the lobby and most of my stay was very enjoyable. When my daughter and I decided to stay one more night that is where we had issues. The man at the desk said he could make sure we were in the same room so we didn't need to pack up all our things. The next morning we went down to adjust our key cards and they tried telling us we had to switch rooms. They said all was good, we left for a few hours and when we came back we were told we couldn't go into our rooms until 3 at check in. It was a hassle. Other than that it was good. We ate their breakfast one morning out of the 3 and I think for price it was good.

Would not recommend it to the majority of people. During check-in, the lights went out multiple times. The only plus of this situation was that the counter staff was visibly trying his best to fix the situation. Regardless, it went out 3-4x, who knows if there's more to come. When asked if we could switch rooms, there was no resolution and had he not fixed it in the end, we would all not have any charging points. What was important to me was laundry. I booked a&o because the laundry room in Munich worked perfectly. Alas, the laundry doesn't work here - it's out of order. If you walk to the a&o beside, they only open the laundry room from 8am - 10pm, aka during the timings when visitors would usually be out and about (please fire whoever came up with this policy). Bed linen is thin, but at least the blanket is sufficient. Plugs are inadequate, no wall plugs only an inbuilt one that uses USB-A. Only good thing about this hostel? It's good value. It is the same as pretty much any a&o I've stayed in, for a cheaper price. So if you're on a budget and have no qualms with some inconveniences, this might be for you. Otherwise, stay away. Maybe try yoho.

A nice hostel near the train station for a reasonable price. Not super clean, but OK. Nice lounge and a 24 hour reception. The only thing that I found really awful was the kitchen. It is in the basement with no windows, in the same room as the laundry, so the air is humid and you can hardly breathe there. Also it is dirty and disgusting and the dishes are taken out most of the time. So this hostel is definitely not for you if you plan to do some cooking.
