The best thing of this hotel is location. It is located in old town which is heart and life of Salzburg. The building was old but well maintained.This side of old town is a pedestrian area which adds to it's beauty. The room was quite good decent size overlooking pedestrian street. Though the street was crowded throughout the day but there was no noise at all in the room. The back side exit led to main street facing beautiful Salzac river. Everything worth seeing was within walking distance. The breakfast room had a nice view of river and mountains. The reception staff was very helpful ans so was the staff at breakfast room. We really liked their omelette in the morning. Worth staying !!

Fantastic location (not easy to see from road/river side - watch for # 26 and vertical Radisson sign) - warm welcome and we were blessed with a nice upgrade for our 3 night stay. Tremendous breakfast with fresh ingredients and preparation, big variety, nice views of the river and mountains. LOVE the location - just close enough but not noisy or hectic. Cafe staff could not be more accommodating. Rooms are spotless. Fantastic tub - my wife loved the bath salts and soaker design. We only wish our beds could have been a double rather than side-by-side twin beds.

It is obviously overpriced. They are selling you some supposed “atmosphere”, an alleged ambiance and rustic charm. You want to buy it, go ahead. But know that the price of that possible, subjective fantasy (or just an efficiently infused PR/Marketing illusion...), is very costly. . The only view of the windows on both sides of our room, was… a wall. The big and heavy wall of the adjacent building. At less than 1 meter of distance from our windows. But perhaps that is also part of the “atmosphere” they are selling you for a hefty price. As if you are imprisoned in an ancient dungeon or something… . The shower space was the narrow bathtub. Which would have been fine, if the plumbing was not defective. But alas, the drain was clogged. So at the end of your shower, your feet were soaking in the residual soapy water, up to your ankles. You could of course wait for it to go away – and then furtively clean your feet again -, if you stayed in that stagnating dirty water for a good 15 minutes. . Speaking of waiting, there was a long waiting line of 15-20 minutes, before they eventually find you a table, for the breakfast. Which had nothing special at all. You couldn’t even have coffee at your leisure, because you had to ask a waiter to bring it to you from the kitchen. If you could find a waiter. . And while you are paying an amount, for 1 night, equivalent to the rent of 2 months (60 nights) that a lot of people pay for an apartment anywhere, when you go and ask for a bottle of water at the Reception, they will charge you an extra 10$ for it. A 750 ml bottle of water, that is. . As part of this expensive theatre, though, some of the staff members at the reception - the senior ones -, with the way they are dressed, they talk and they behave, display a decorum which could have some merit... For a moment there, you could imagine that you are a guest at “The Continental”, in the John Wick movies. And then pay for that feeling, with a large coin of gold.

Sadly, I was not able to visit because of a huge snowfall in Munich that didn't allow me to travel (no planes or trains). We wanted to visit Salzburg to see the Christmas market. I called the hotel and tried moving the reservation to a later date, but since it was booked via Booking and in their words "it was the cheapest option" (actually, the only available and around 570euros!) They refused to help me (even though I proposed moving the reservation to a much later and cheaper date). I understand the hotel has every right to do this, but it was a very extraordinary occasion. I feel very sad about this, and will not attempt to reserve a room with them ever again.
