Mangaluru International Airport or IXE is the second-busiest airport in Karnataka . It is also one of the two international airports in the state . Previously known as Bajpe aerodrome, it is located 16 km away from the city centre . Initially, the domestic flight operations were limited to Bangalore . During the early 2000s, services to other major cities like Delhi, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, and Hyderabad commenced , operated by SpiceJet, Jet Airways, and Air India.
