As per the Guidelines for International Arrival published by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, 2% of the total flight passengers shall undergo random testing on arrival. Passengers shall be allowed to leave the airport post undergoing the test. Children under 12 years of age are exempted from post-arrival random testing.

In view of the guidelines published by DO Letter to Secretary dated 22d Dec’22 there has to be strict compliance of COVID-19 protocols at Airport and Inside the aircraft. Passengers must wear a facemask at all times during the travel.

Following actions can be taken if the passenger violates COVID 19 protocols or refuses to wear mask even after repeated warnings:
  • CISF personnel deployed at the entrance of the Airport will ensure that no one is allowed to enter the Airport without wearing a mask. Passenger without a facemask will not be permitted to enter the terminal.
  • At the airport, he/ she can be fined as per the State Law and may be handed over to Security Agencies as per the applicable law on the subject.
  • They can be deboarded before departure.
  • During the course of the flight such passenger may be treated as “Unruly Passenger” and procedure in respect of handling such unruly passenger shall be followed by the concerned airline.

Frequent announcements are made to ensure that passengers are wearing facemask and following COVID 19 protocols. Self- Mask vending machines also placed at terminals.

Passengers are advised to wear face mask properly and continue to wear the mask throughout the journey inside the aircraft.

COVID 19 testing facility, managed by Apollo (ICMR approved and NABL accredited lab) is located at International Arrivals in the Pre-Immigration Area. Registration counter and sampling booth has the intake capacity 1000 tests per day.  

Frequent sanitisation is carried out across the terminals, and sanitiser dispensers are also placed at various touchpoints at the airport.

Mangaluru International Airport, previously known as Bajpe Aerodrome, is situated in Bajpe at a distance of 13 km from Mangaluru.
