The Port Blair International Airport is also known as Veer Savarkar International Airport. It is named after the freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar who was kept in the cellular jail in Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, for 10 years. The airport is mainly a customs airport; however, it also shares a civil enclave that is used for domestic and international flights and the Indian Navy. It is located about 2 km south of the capital of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Port Blair.
The airport has a runway that is 3290 metres long and can accommodate narrow aircraft like the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737. The passenger terminal is about 6100 sq km in area and can accommodate up to 400 passengers at a time, but the new terminal under construction will be able to handle 1200 domestic and international travellers.
The majority of aircraft are operated by the navy, except general flights, which come under the purview of the Airport Authority of India. There is only one runway that is collectively used by everyone. Moreover, there is one terminal that can cater to more than 600 passengers at any given time.

Most airlines have defined specific security guidelines for passenger luggage. These include a list of items passengers are allowed to bring on a flight, packing tips, and other relevant baggage-related information. Please follow these guidelines while packing for your Hyderabad to Port Blair flight to avoid delays during boarding. You can drop off your check-in baggage at the airline’s counter.
Usually, the permitted weight of your check-in baggage depends on the airline you have chosen to fly with and the class of travel. On most domestic flights, the standard baggage weight allowed per passenger is 15 kgs (1 piece only). Additional baggage of 10 kgs may be allowed if you have booked multiple seats. In some cases, additional baggage may attract extra charges that must be paid according to the rates set by the airline.
Note that this allowance differs for Air India. Air India allows check-in baggage up to 40 kg for First Class passengers, 35 kg for Business Class passengers, and 25 kg for Economy Class passengers domestically. Read the airline’s baggage allowance policy before you travel.

Sultan Muhammad Qutb Shah began construction on the Mecca Masjid in 1614, and it was finished by Aurangzeb in 1693. This mosque, made from native granite, is not only the largest in Hyderabad but also one of India’s biggest. The tombs of all the Nizams dating back to 1803 are shown in the arched gallery. As per historical records, Sultan Muhammad Qutub invited many religious elders to lay the foundation stone, but when no one volunteered, he did it himself. He also never missed the midnight prayer. Regarding the mehrab, there is a high barrier wall on the west side. It features two massive octagonal columns made from a single block of granite. This, in turn, is capped by an arched gallery with a dome on top.
The Golconda fort is situated in the western part of Hyderabad and was originally named Mankal and was built in the 12th century. Later, during the rule of the Bahmani dynasty, it was fortified and served as a capital for both the Bahmani and its successor, the Qutub Shahi dynasty.
Charminar translates to four minarets. The Charminar is located in the heart of the city. The architecture of the minaret is eloquent in every possible way. It was built by Quli Qutub Shah in 1591 and it remains one of the best places to see in Hyderabad. Ramoji Film City, a film studio near Film Nagar, will transport you to another universe. It can be reached via bus or cab. Many tours and travel companies offer transportation from various locations in Hyderabad to Ramoji Film City. The film studio complex lies in Hyderabad’s Hayathnagar neighbourhood. Ramoji Film City is a big integrated film studio that was built in 1996 on about 2,000 acres of land and is recognised by the Guinness World Records as the “World’s Largest Studio Complex”. It is also a major tourist destination and entertainment centre, attracting over 1.5 million visitors each year. Mr. Ramoji Rao, a Telugu film producer who had always wanted to develop a studio similar to Universal Studios in Hollywood, is the man behind Ramoji Film City.
