Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport (IATA code: IXL), or Leh Airport, is named after the Late Kushok Bakula Rimpochee, who was a Ladakhi statesman. The airport is located 10,682 ft above sea level. It is a single terminal domestic airport, which connects Leh to several prominent destinations in the country including Mumbai, Jammu, Delhi, Chandigarh, and Srinagar. The terminal is spread over an area of around 2,500 sq m.

At the airport, hand baggage is not allowed for security reasons. However, the airport provides several facilities for the convenience of passengers, including a waiting hall, baggage services, X-ray scanners, free baggage trolleys, restaurants, tea and coffee counters, and an on-call doctor. Leh Airport is approximately 5 km from the bus stand and 5.5 km from the railway station.
