Rajiv Gandhi International Airport or Hyderabad International Airport (IATA Code: HYD) is located near Shamshabad, about 22 km south of Downtown Hyderabad, in Andhra Pradesh. The airport was named after the former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi. It replaced the Begumpet Airport, the previous international airport of Hyderabad, soon after it became fully operational on 23rd March 2008. It is a public-private partnership venture among the Indian airports.

Many domestic flights arrive and depart from this terminal daily, linking the city with all the other major cities in the country. IndiGo, Air India, SpiceJet and Vistara operate from this airport.

The Kolhapur Airport was built under the patronage of the Maharaja of Kolhapur, Shri Rajaram Maharaj, in 1939. Later, the Government of Maharashtra undertook expansion plans with the MIDC and Airports Authority of India to convert it into a full-fledged domestic airport from April 1987.

About Kolhapur

Kopeshwar Temple
