100 Iceland Hotel

The staff was very friendly and took in our bags before check-in. The room was made available before the check-in time, and we were notified via a message. They also gave us some recommendations where we could eat. The location of the hotel is directly at the start of a pedestrian zone which goes to the city centre. Only the room was a little disappointing with old furniture and bath. But for the money it was okay.

This is not a hotel. It's basically a very cheap parody of tiny students rooms. Despite energy being free in Reykjavik, their heating system is very poor which makes rooms cold and without carpets you definitely need to bring your own slippers as the floor is very cold. Description of the hotel mentions reception but there is none, you have to buzz from outside in order to be able to speak to someone via comms system standing on the busy loud and cold street, so if you have a question about shower, dress yourself warmly to leave your room and step outside where it's usually very windy and raining. There is no other means of communication in the hotel, they provide less than bare minimum, no explanation, no telephone, no place to eat, no tea or coffee, and when you ask for cutlery you will be met with indignation. There is also a bubble tea shop on the grounds of the so called hotel, separated by cardboard, be prepared to receive rude answers if you gather your courage to ask them a question, they will deliberately ignore you and if they have to answer - it will be a rude "we are not the hotel". The only positive about this hotel is its location which is quite central but with cheap windows with massive gaps in them you will have to dress up warmly to face the wind from the streets and you won't be able to sleep because of the noise from the streets. I had to stay there twice unfortunately (booked it in advance for the way there and back, if I had this information in advance I would not go there back) and both rooms where I stayed looked like very cheap students rooms. You will have a kettle with a short cord, in order to make tea (your own bought tea, they don't provide even spoons), you will have to place it on the floor near the plugs. Toilets are located under the sinks, if you are a small build like me, you will manage to squeeze under the sink just right. I don't want to go into description of the beds, I am sure you never saw anything like that, the most uncomfortable mattress which feels like a layer of duvets, if you get a single bed, even if you are small build you will struggle not to fall into the gap between mattress and the wall. The curtains in every room are closed for a reason as the view could be facing the bins or window facing main street where everyone would be able to see in. Plus the curtains protect a bit from the cold entering from the window gaps The price might seem a bit lower but definitely not worth your saving on basic comfort needs.
