Adina Apartment Hotel Dusseldorf

We are very pleasantly surprised with this hotel that exceeded our expectations. The only thing is missing is a great view but we can't complain because the hotel is a stone thrown away from the main train station, very accessible to the city center, and is in a lively area with everything we need not far away. The team is very nice and professional, and we are allowed to check in hours before the check in time. The room itself is very nice and has all the amenities we need for a week-long stay. The breakfast is fantastic, and hotel as a whole is clean and modern.

SUPER DISAPPOINTED. Felt discriminated against. What started out as our favorite hotel in Germany quickly took a complete nosedive purely from the appallingly bad service (and possibly discrimination) we received here! This is so unfortunate because it is a beautiful hotel and we loved the concept of having the convenience of an apartment (small kitchen, washer/dryer, reduced housekeeping) with all the amenities of a hotel (reception, breakfast buffet, pool). We were so excited to stay at Adina, and even started looking into Adina for our Vienna trip next April. But at this point, we will be checking out tomorrow and avoiding Adina at all cost! We are on our last night now, returning to rest at the hotel, but the parking lot is full (looks like there was a convention) and we are lined up with other cars to come in. I walk to the reception for assistance and the staff (Kostyantyn) looked up at me with contempt and zero greeting (verbal or gestural). I explained that we are staying here at the hotel and trying to come back into the parking lot but blocked from what seems to be a full lot. He literally rolls his eyes, shrugs and says “What do you want me to do about that?”. WHAT??…I ask “well um what’s going on? Is there a convention? Is it ending soon perhaps? Is there another alternative?” And he looks at me blankly. I say “is there a different parking lot close by that we can try instead?” And he replies “no I don’t know, I am not from here”. I was very tempted to say “but you do work here?”. This is absurd! Is this racism/discrimination (as I am clearly not white and not speaking German), or just a complete lack of competence in your staff?? On the 1st night, the staff kept giving us a key that wasn’t properly activated and didn’t work. We had to go down to reception multiple times. The 2nd day, housekeeping almost barged into the room while I was showering (hence didn’t hear knocking) DESPITE our do not disturb sign being on the door. My husband had to jump out of bed and run to the door to block the person from coming in. The third day, we called reception to ask for extra towels, tissue and bathrobes which were not in the rooms when we checked in. They said it would be sent up for us. One hour later, we called again and said we wanted to go out, if they are going to come soon. They checked our room number again and said they would send someone up right away. 25 minutes later, we decided to just go out and not waste time waiting. On our way out, we drop by reception to ask what’s going on, and they told us, “oh we had your room number wrong. Do you want the stuff now?” These others were all minor issues for us that could be overlooked but added all together with today’s extremely upsetting interaction, we are utterly disappointed and do not recommend this for anyone.
