Great place that is a little off the city center but all the better as the main town square can get too noisy sometimes. Staff is great and friendly, always cheerful and ready to serve. Hotel has a lot of artwork which I enjoyed, with level 4 being also a mini art gallery. Not sure if I can purchase any of them though. Rooms are clean and spacious. The only gripe I have is that there was no drain in the shower, and the design is such that water would have to flow out of the shower area to the toilet bowl area. As the drain isn't very efficient, you might be able to take a swim in the toilet after your bath. However this wasn't much of an issue because it gets dry fairly quickly if you switch on the exhaust fan and leave the door open. This is entirely no fault of the staff but a strange and peculiar design perk. View was great from the balcony; unfortunately we went during winter so we saw mostly fog. Great stay and would come again!

Major road construction on there main road which makes it inaccessible by car. Hotel should have informed us when we made the booking but did not. Instead, they emailed about check-in, breakfast, hello with tour etc. We found out Sa Pa is foggy thus wet at this time of the year. The will drop you off at the intersection so good luck carrying your bags or rolling it on the wet muddy road. Hotel has great views if it's not foggy but be prepared for the stairs. If it's foggy, it's just white out so you see nothing. From the main road, it's a small flight of stairs to reception. From reception, there's lift to the 7 floor and then you'll have to take the stairs to your room. Level 1, 2, and 3 - Room 100s, 200s, 300s. From the 7th floor to the rooms, it's fully exposed. Beautiful tile flooring in the summer but slippery in the winter when it's foggy and wet. If it rains, you're out of luck as well. Rooms with balcony: I wouldn't call it a balcony. It's an outdoor corridor as you walk to your room. Unless you have the corner room, it's like a fish tank. People can look right in as they walk to their rooms. You can choose to close the curtains, turn what's the point of a room with balcony? Room itself is very clean and nicely decorated. Love the modern showers. Havent had their breakfast so can't comment on that yet. Overall would I stay in this hotel if I knew of all these quirks upfront? No. There are plenty of options with much better accessibility. I can always comes here for a coffee to enjoy the view on a clear day.

This will be a strange review but hear me out and you may benefit 😉 We just left this hotel for another one because we found it uncomfortably cold and a bit challenging to navigate with slick - although ornate - walkways in between the rooms and spaces. Right now anyway, this is not the place for everyone at this time of year. But in many ways I actually love this hotel. The views not only from the hotel but within it are marvelous and so pleasing to the eye. The staff were kind and patient, doing their best to respond to multiple requests we made of them (e.g. a small space heater, something to block the draft coming through the door). The room we stayed in was tight but practical with an adjoining bathroom I found to be nicely fitted with contemporary shower head style and options. The bed was comfortable for me as someone who likes firm mattresses. The bed was moderately sturdy. We enjoyed watching Netflix a bit and the wireless Internet was fine. I see a great future for this hotel once the work on the street out front is completed, and especially during warmer times of year. I think the place is really beautiful and it reminds me of some of the small elegant places I've stayed in Europe but without losing its sense of identity in Vietnam. Also, I think this hotel may do very well for you in terms of pricing. During the time of our stay, their rates were HIGHLY competitive. Finally, I think the staff here are highly motivated and were quick to respond pleasantly to whatever we voiced a need for. This included carrying very heavy bags down the shattered road out front to and from our cab some distance away. So, welcome to the hotel I left early but recommend that you give a serious look. I think this is especially the case if you're reading this a few months after my posting.

We chose Cat Cat hotel for our 3 nights 4 days sa pa trip. We got the room at a good deal, around $35/night. The price includes daily breakfast & cleaning. What stood out to me was the customer service from the friendly staffs. The bellman, Son, even offered to take us on a scooter tour after his shift to Ta Van village. The breakfast had great options of both Vietnamese and foreign dishes. There were hot Pho and rice rolls everyday, along with great Vietnamese coffee. The room is a but small, but clean, there is daily room service. It's mostly quite but the wall can be thin and we can hear the TV from out next door neighbor. Overall, I would stay here again.
