The best thing is the location by far. The Cavalier is a landmark boutique hotel in the South Beach Art Deco style. While it is old its decor is very modern. You're not going to be spending too much time in your room, but we found the room perfect size for a week in Miami right on the beach front and walking distance to beach all landmarks and amenities. Service was good, most staff excellent but one or two were visibly lazy; while the rooms were promptly cleaned we did seem to have to chase up with reception for bathroom supplies on a few occasions. The restaurant is very reasonable for South Beach. The hotel also has dedicated beach chairs on South Beach. The hotel doesn't have a gym or pool, most rooms don't have a view but that's just a product of its time, you're on South Beach so the convenience of everything else will compensate. I might suggest ear plugs as sound travels in the hotel, again just a product of its time. Its also on a walking tour route so you may find tourists in the lobby admiring the art deco features!!

We were happy with our stay at the Cavalier. Our Ocean view room was clean and quiet. The staff was very helpful and nice. Our only complaint was the set up of the shower. There was nowhere to set your things and the shower head was awkward and there was no door or curtain so water got everywhere.

The hotel is located in the pedestrian part of Ocean Drive. Very nice lobby, cosy and tastefully furnished. The double room, on the ground floor, was clean, well furnished and equipped with every comfort. The bathroom was very nice, with a nice big shower. I had booked with breakfast included. The choice for breakfast was not very extensive, but to my liking. I did not like the use of plastic plates and the lack of attention to service, often missing cups and napkins. The location is great for both the beach and walking on Ocean Drive. For a hotel with such a history and location, I think more attention needs to be paid to service and customers.

Great Hotel from the Time we walked in we could feel welcomed as we were greeted and taken care of by Philip and Andreen who couldn't do enough for us. I'm glad the Cavalier kept its old charm from 1926 especially the elevator with the gate inside. Rooms are very spacious. You can't beat the location, access to the beach, strip and restaurants only if you want to try other restaurants. I personally would say there as the food is exceptional not to mention the superb wait staff. Would definitely recommend staying there as I would again. Thanks for making our stay a moment to remember. Can't wait to go back. Joe P

Location is great. Staff was not very friendly at all, with the exception of one bartender, who was on her last day working there. The breakfast is absolutely not accommodating to dietary restrictions whatsoever, if you are vegan, or gluten free, don't plan on eating here, they will not accommodate you. My room had an oder of garbage or sewage, which was disconcerting. The location was great, that is the one positive of the experience here. All in all, overpriced for the experience, in my opinion.
