Cancun Layover: "Always a Mixed Bag of Disappointment" As a traveler who been all over the world, I am part of a family that owns Resorts, Hotels & Restaurants in different well known countries and as a known artist, tv host, this is the review. My recent layover in Cancun was an interesting experience, to say the least. This hotel the only worthy is the "free" airport shuttle, that was convenient, the hotel itself left a bit to be desired. To started we decided to asked where we can have dinner, and everything is by $$$TAXIS$$$ 45 minutes away, I am not complaining about to pay, the deal here is how the taxis trying to take advantage of you charging you ridiculous amount of money! Remember if you come from another country you are a big sign of $$$$ here in Cancun. We decided to have a quick bite to start the "layover flight experience" at the hotel "Cafe"; with bright lights all over you and the music of people taking loud, one or two guests asking for "fancy" food inside this "hot dogs, pizza and burgers Cafeteria". We order the basic, "PIZZA" it tooks over 2 hours and drinks came after, the check? Well, with a calculator and no recipt. The room wasn't the cleanest, hair on the shower walls, blankets dirty, NO TOWELS in any rooms, that was the interested part, every single person make a line in the front desk asking for towels, and they give you a transparent tinny one look like a scrub towel. Breakfast in the next morning a disaster, and the overall price, including groceries, high for the quality. We don't do "Buffet Style" always look savage anywhere and no taste, in this hotel is the only option close by. At the breakfast: People with no manners, their grabbing food like is the end of the world, skipped lines just to using a toaster, some kids throwing bottles of water in the air like a "cool game" and parents dont even care about it. A circus. Cancun always trying to captive the eyes of travelers who don't travel much, with their tempting of "included" or "all inclusive", I am not captivating with anything in Cancun, or those things anywhere. I personally don't like or recommend Cancun for vacation, is too ordinary and the price in everything is too high for what it is. My self, I love and like to pay for experiences, great food, costumer service, atmosphere and art estructures as an influencer and owner of a luxury magazine, not to wasted with unpleasant experiences, and I totally understand what is a "express plus hotel" but that doesn't meant you pay over $200.00 DOLLARS A NIGHT to sleep like "a dog tide with a leash oustide of the garage." In Cancun airport vendors, car rentals, tours people trying to take advantage of turist, they see in us BIG DOLLARS or EUROS. one thing is offering experiences to the tourist and other thing is take advantage with fake things. The only time you'll see me in CANCUN is because we can avoid a layover flight, and I prepare myself mentally for the worst. In general Mexico have beautiful towns and cities to visit, rich in culture, great people, stunning hotels and restaurants that really appreciate turist & artist, making the experience a pleasant unforgettable one...I love the culture, their food fusion, so much to discover from their culture throughout their ancestors... but CANCUN is not that city or town! NOT AT ALL! Take a note and stay away. I always feel attacked at the time I put a step outside and within Cancun airport. This people dont let you breath, they just want your money in anyway and when you dont speak their language; They will take advantage of your wallet with lies. To finalize my review; this Hotel is in the middle of nowhere and the price per night are too high for what it is...like everything else in this city. I was prepared mentally for our layover flight in cancun, we researched for weeks and we finished here as we expected a normal hotel for a layover as is an american label., well it looks like everything is the same in this awful city. I do not recommend this hotel or anything in Cancun within my experiences.

We booked this hotel because our flight got cancelled. We asked for early check-in when we made the reservation, they said it was available but did not tell us it would be an additional change of 1000 pesos. Everything about the check-in is extremely slow. It took 4 people at the service desk to get though the reservation process....never seen anything like this! The door was propped open with a lotion container...
