We stayed in a hotel in the airport last year, and thinking it was the Hilton, I booked a room for this trip. Turns out I had booked the Marriott last year. I used to travel a lot for work and Hiltons were one of my favorite places to stay. But the past few years the Hilton brand has disappointed. This hotel is no exception. Compared to our stay last year, this hotel was very sub-par. Clean enough, but small rooms with no natural light. At least that was our experience with this room.

DOES NOT HAVE DIGITAL KEY / CONTACTLESS CHECK IN. I booked a room to be able to rest between trips - assured that I would be able to check in with the Digital Key as my flight arrived at 2:30 am. We got to the hotel at 3:30am and I thought it lucky that an attendant was at the desk. He quickly informed us that he would not be able to assign us a room until he updated his systems, nor does this particular hotel have Digital Key access. Note that I had been assured by the Hilton app that I would be able to have access with the Digital key. I had even checked in on the app and chosen my room - still I was told no room would be available until he updated his systems which would take 'at least an hour or more'. Extremely unfortunate as we only had a few hours to rest before our next trip. We took the chance to rest on the couch in the lobby and wait until the rooms were available. Upon getting ready to sleep on a couch, we were rudely awakened and told that we must sit up to wait for the room. Now we were unable to rest at all. After another 30 minute wait he states we can check in now, but we declined. He then promptly kicked us out. Not only was the specific experience unfortunate, the attendant was one of the rudest, least compassionate human beings I've ever had the displeasure of meeting. We had no rest all evening.

I have never been keen on hotels located within airports, but necessity brought us to the Hilton in the México City airport. I will say that the location is very convenient for those catching early flights. The front desk staff as well as the restaurant staff was very good. The food in the hotel restaurant was decent. My biggest issue was with the room itself. Spartan is the term that best describes the room. While there was a great Nespresso machine, there were no coffee pods. There was no fridge to put our bottled water. No microwave. There was only one tiny wastebasket for the room located in the bathroom. The easy chair was extremely uncomfortable. One of the biggest issues was that the room doors (they were heavy) slammed up and down the hall all night long. I will say the bed was very comfortable. Perhaps it is just the nature of airport hotels, where guests only stay for a night, but as a Hilton Diamond member I was not particularly impressed. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either.

Five stars for an airport terminal hotel. We’ve stayed at some truly bad ones around the world and honestly this Hilton is fine. It’s not luxury, but it’s clean, convenient, and quiet. The bar and restaurant remain open which is also not the norm for airport hotels. It’s a little hard to find - but ask around and someone will point you in the right direction. So yeah, if you need an overnight I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here.

2 stars because of the location and not having to travel outside of the airport. We got stuck in Mexico City for a night while on vacation. I booked a 2 bed room with points for 4 guests. The front desk was really rude and would not provide us with 4 keys. Later when we asked for additional towels, it too felt like we were inconveniencing them. Virtually zero amenities and even the standard amenities feel like a big ask. I am a gold status member and this definitely does not feel like a real Hilton property.
