Hotel Cosmopolit in Athens, Greece, is small but clean. The friendly staff are helpful. This hotel is not suited for a long stay, but it is perfect for an overnight stay. The area the hotel is situated in is rather dirty with many homeless people wandering around. The Hotel is close to the Metro station, Taxi stops and the Hop on Hop off buses, making getting around convenient.

I have to say I loved my experience in Athens and this hotel was pretty clean. I was surprised that after I stayed there my body was full of bites.. I went to the doctor and he confirmed it was bedbugs. I sent an email to the hotel to tell them about my experience and they never replied to even apologised. I was not going to complain this way but thought if they don't even reply to an email concerning that matter.. they might not care much about their customers. Now my body is full scars because of the bites and I am still worried I brought some home.

This is good if you are staying a night or two. Rooms are relatively clean with nice bedding and good AC. Service is very nice and helpful. It’s run down, eg mold on some walls, rusty elevator and weird stairs as well as a cockroach in my bathroom. However for €12 a night it’s great. The location is pretty central (10 min walk to monestaraki, and 25 to acropolis) however this is in a dodgy side road where junkies and homeless stay so stay wary, especially as solo female like myself. Other than this though, i would stay again if I was still broke!

This hotel is located in a very dangerous area. We were 6 girls and in front of the hotel were junkies sitting around. One of them even entered the hotel. The rooms weren't clean and the overall ambience is very unsafe. We checked in left our luggage and went to a pre-booked tour at the Akrolpolis and decided to leave the hotel, as we were afraid of what might happen during evening and night-time. We told this to the concierge and this hotel hat the audacity to cancel are stay with booking and send as cancellation fees in the height of the initial booking. So now we can't rate it on booking nor is booking willing to help us. If you are female- this hotel is not safe!!! Don't stay there!

The hotel has a very good position, in the city center of Athens and very close to Syntagma and Monastiraki square, as well as the Acropolis. You just need to pay a little more attention at night in the adjacent Omonia square. Very good service and kind receptionists, free luggage storage 24h. I slept in a 4-beds female dorm, unfortunately the bathroom door was defective and couldn't be locked, and the bathroom itself is a bit too tiny and gets flooded after showering.
