Courtyard Orlando Lake Buena Vista in the Marriott Village

This was not a terrible stay and the hotel is in a good location. My five main reasons for the low rating are: 1. The room smelled musty. Not quite like mold but it was not very pleasant. Your nose forgets about it after a while but everything you return to the room it reminds you that it is there. 2. We went to use the pool. It was close to the end of the pools hours. We got in the pool and then went to the hot tub, the hot tub was a bit dirty and not at all hot, so we went back to the pool. We were only out there for 15 minutes or so, and it was still 15 minutes before the pool closed, but when we tried to get back into the hotel, our keycard would not open the doors. A kind Samaritan tried to let us in from the inside but their card also wouldn't open the door. We figure that the hotel turned the locks off before the pool hours officially closed. Fortunately, we had one of our cellphones, so we called the front desk and waited outside for 10-15 minutes and then called again and this time an employee finally came and rescued us. That was very unpleasant. 3. The breakfast is not included and is quite expensive for the quality. We did it to save time and because getting a breakfast sandwich from the Starbucks in the lobby was almost as expensive. However, next time we would try that and hope it was better quality. 4. Apparently the ac is out in the hallways so they have loud fans to help cool it down which blow directly into your face as you approach the elevators from where our room was. 5. They messed up the billing for my room. I was spending two nights on my personal card and three nights on my business card. However in the end they charged everything to my personal card, even though my business card was the one on the account after I had them change it over. That made my expense report more annoying to fill out. They also tried to charge me for parking even though I didn't have a car on site and that was recorded correctly in the computer. I'm glad I requested a paper copy of my receipt and checked it before I left.

I stayed one night, when I arrived a man was upset about his key card not working. I thought he was overreacting it’s an easy fix. Well it’s common I see in the reviews. One of our keys stopped working then the second one. A simple walk to the desk to get fixed. Over all the room was modern and decent. The night sleep wasn’t great. I suddenly had a really stuffy nose and didn’t sleep well. I questioned the room, I wasn’t feeling ill and had no symptoms of anything. ( when we left my nose cleared and haven’t had an issue sense. questioning air quality in there and potentially mold) We did breakfast there it wasn’t that great. A bit pricey it is buffet style. If you’re not taking full advantage annd only eating a few things it’s not worth the price. As we were getting ready to leave a nice lady was trying to convince us to go see their new updated room. Im an owner at a resort up the road i just booked this to fly in a day early to try something new. She was persistent. Still kind , but we declined the offer. My main complaint/ disappointment is when checking it that its not being clear and upfront when you arrive about parking. They inform you that there’s a 50 dollar hold per a day , they do not tell you there is a parking fee per a day if you bring a car. You find out in your charges. I don’t know Wether this is stated on the Marriott courtyard website Just be aware if you don’t want to pay 20 a day for parking during your stay.
