Excellent place if you want to combine Siena and chilling by pool. If you don't mind a brisk walk into the center, this is a really good hotel to stay. We very much enjoyed the combination of relaxing by the pool and walking into Siena city center.

Good stay. Check in staff was exceptional and offered options to explore Siena and the surroundings without prompting. Breakfast is far superior to what you find in breakfast included Marriotts in the United States. Received a complimentary room upgrade. Hotel not new but very well kept. Well done Marriott!

Edit 2: thankfully we can update our review since receiving help from the facility manager, Teodora, who hadn't been fully filled in until meeting with us. She immediately began helping us and we anticipate the issue being fully resolved by her and some further communication with the hotel and Marriott. It's unfortunate that an otherwise pleasant stay was tainted by poor customer service, but I think it's fair to say that what we experienced us far from the norm and you can expect better than what I wrote about below. Unbelievably bad service. We had flight delays getting in town, but would arrive a day later than planned. Their policy is to charge $250 AND cancel your reservation, even when we were perfectly fine paying for the night we'd miss. If you're thinking about Marriott loyalty, I'd urge you to reconsider, as it gets absolutely 0 help fr@wom them. Edit: What I'm about to add is not directed at all of the individual staff at the hotel, as I'm sure many of them are competent and kind, but their decision-makers have taken advantage of us while we went through a 1-day travel delay. At first I thought it was simply laziness, carelessness, or some other lack of care, but now it seems personal as they have added additional charges to our bill and are now charging us the cost of 6 nights for only a 3 night stay. Unfortunately, I have to resort to name-calling to truthfully define the behavior. This is some predatory, scumbag behavior on the part of this hotel, and Marriott, who said they had no say in any of this, yet have added to our charges instead of advocating for years-long top-tier loyalty members. There is nothing to show for the years of loyalty when there's an actual problem, so I advise you to choose any other facility in the area and any other hotel group generally.

If you're looking for American comforts while traveling in Italy, this is a perfect stop. Hotel had all the pillows, towels/washcloths, and space Americans are accustomed to. My room had a large window opening to a small olive Grove- nice to have fresh air. Staff was not so nice when pressed to find missing luggage that they out in the wrong room. Had to get native Italian speaker to help out. Hotel is not walking distance from anything you'd want to see, but for a single night between places, it was perfect.
