Hotel management is very poor. During a 3 day stay, I spoke with 5 different receptionist and no hotel manager. Check-in late at night and apparently our room was occupied so was put in another room temporarily with little amenities. The following morning had to leave the luggages at reception until another room was ready in the afternoon. Little apologies or explanation give because staff speak very little English. Overall, the location is ok but it is on a loud commercial back street with lots of garbage. Rooms look nice on photos but in reality are quire scruffy and could do with some properly cleaning. Not recommended, not even for a low price, primarily because staff do not speak English so you cannot really complain or get things sorted out.

Great value - trendy location, easy to access Galataport, very helpful and friendly stuff. We were able to check-in early because our room was ready, the exchange rate for the payment was fair. The room is pretty big, a lot of storage space, a lot of lighting options, the conditioning worked well. Some sockets were not working, but there was enough of them.

Hotel is clean, simple and minimalist. No frills. The location was great, easy to walk to many key locations and shops. The receptionist was helpful in getting us a taxi when needed and was overall very kind.

Rooms are tiny as advertised. However the bathroom cleanliness left much to be desired with mildew and scum build up from a leaking shower etc. The worst thing is the location which is on a back street behind all the main bars and restaurants on the Galata strip so the road is constantly covered in garbage, full of delivery vans and at night loud from endless bins being filled and emptied. In hindsight there is no point at all in staying in Galata. Getting up the hill is always a pain and you are surrounded by tourist everything. Save yourself the hassle and stay down near the water or up closer to taksim. Finally the service was polite however they said nothing about the building work taking place next door or any offer to move our room to a quieter one. For a cheap stay it's passable but wouldn't choose it again.

We stayed 3 nights here at the Galata Rasso. The staff was friendly and helpful despite some language challenges. The hotel was conveniently located near the Galata tower. It was unfortunate our room didn't resonate the first impression we have. The shower doesn't drain and remained so despite me informing the staff to get it fixed after the first night. Small details like towel hangers and room not being very clean in corners are things that I have noticed. I would not take the reviews online seriously as my stay did not reflect it.
