very clean very fancy. we ate at the breakfast brunch and the food was fantastic. They have a good mix of western style food and Taiwanese food. The beef noodle soup was actually really good. Everything was scenic inside and out. They don't have dairy free creamer.

The exterior of the hotel buildings was the main reason I chose this hotel. The interior of the room (basic, windowless room) was less impressive. It was basically clean but you can see that some parts are old. The restaurant for breakfast was good but the shops in the hotel seems old fashioned too. From the historical perspective this is a nice hotel but if you’re looking for better quality accommodation for the same (high) price I believe you’ll be better off choosing a newer hotel. Also the location of the hotel with the infrequent shuttle bus also makes it not very convenient for traveller. Overall, this is a nice hotel with some room for improvements.

I’ve been to this hotel before. The hotel itself is pretty, while rooms are okay just standard rooms. I booked this hotel this time again for my Christmas travel but unfortunately I could not make it anymore due to change in plan. While I know it’s their policy to not allow free cancellation within 1 day of arrival, I do not appreciate them not having any flexibility. The staff was very firm, no room for negotiation at all, like charging a penalty fee instead of entire room fee, allowing to reschedule, etc. I will not come to this hotel again.

We were on a tour and stopped by to check out the oldest hotel in Taiwan. Its so pretty and everywhere you look is amazing with details! The restaurants we walked by looked so elegant and delicious. What we saw in the lobby and museum-ish area were fantastic. We never knew this hotel existed and now are planning to book here for our next trip! We are excited to see the hotel in the spring!
