The view from our room was beautiful, especially during the afternoon and early morning. Having a hot bath with such a view is definitely relaxing. The food was delicious and the plating was so interesting. We had an 8 course meal for dinner that included fresh sashimi, and a quite big breakfast with Japan's number 1 fish! The staff members were very lovely and provided the best service my partner and I have ever experienced!! They even offered us a lift to the station in the morning after we checked out. I highly recommend if you want to spend one day in Hakone to get away from the busy city life and get a change of scenery when you visit Japan.

This is a boutique ryokan experience. To provide context, I think if I had sneezed and asked for them to help wipe my nose, they would have done so. There is no scale to describe the level of hospitality we experienced here. It was beyond incredible. Photos and reviews don’t do this ryokan justice. It only has 10 rooms, but even then you will feel like the only person there. Our suite was more like a spacious apartment with the classic Japanese sliding doors to separate spaces. The bathtub was perfect for two people, and the beds were so comfortable. Dinner was 10 courses, paced perfectly. Breakfast was a lot of food, more than we could eat that early in the day. The staff was so wonderful, kind, patient and helpful. A few tips - free drinks from checkin until 5. There is a stocked bar with a few beers, hot and cold tea and wine that is complimentary. I recommend one night, it’s enough to relax and reset. I would recommend this quiet quaint experience to anyone willing to travel across the world to get there. Best money well spend in a while!

Amazing experience!! We were treated with so much care and kindness at Hakone Kyuan (Cuisine Inn). The room was spacious and comfortable, with gorgeous views of the lake and mountains, and the private onsen was luxurious and relaxing. We opted in for the kaiseki dinner and breakfast, which I definitely would do again - dinner was 8 courses of seasonal food with sashimi, shabu, vegetables, dessert, soup, and more. They took great care to accommodate my partner’s dietary restrictions. When we were too full to finish our rice at dinner, they offered to turn the rice into onigiri for us to have as a night snack. The breakfast was traditional Japanese breakfast with mackerel, salad, and rice and a variety of side dishes. The food was lovely, but the real highlight was the private onsen. Ours had a stunning view of the mountains. After checkout, the staff drove us to Gora station so we could ride the cable car and ropeway. The small staff here are so lovely and kind, and made this an unforgettable experience for us. We would love to come back again!

We visited Japan for our honeymoon in August of 2023 and staying at this ryokan was a highlight of our trip! The food was unbelieveable and the presentation was even better. Every detail was carefully curated. We had a private room in the dining area and our server explained each dish to us. Our room was also delightful and the hot spring onsen, with windows opening up to a view of the mountains, was the perfect place to relax. We were new to the japanese culture, and this was the perfect way to experience it.

Pretty exceptional ryokan. Ended up coming here late so had to rush from Odawara station via taxi, which turned out to only be around 5500 yen which is not bad - would've liked to either use the bus or trained into Hakone Yumoto station to get a bit closer. They do offer to get you from the nearby bus stations if you are going that route. The service here is exceptional. We felt like we were the only ones there. Overall there are not that many rooms which is great and they really are able to tailor their service to you. The room we got was the twin bed with a view which is on the top (2nd) floor and the views of the mountain were indeed spectacular. The space is huge and you really feel like they spent extra time to figure out all the details of the room. There was a side room for tea and a huge probably 85 inch TV, the air conditioning matched the color of the roof, there were windows on all sides, the area entering the private onsen, etc. There was enough space to fit both of us in the onsen which is a plus. The windows of the onsen also open up so 3/4 max are exposed to the environment which is nice since you can choose how much you want to be exposed. It was raining the day that we came in which created a very surreal mood for us. Food was great. Amenities are great. Highly recommend, and would go back.
