Worst experience I’ve had at a holiday inn. It was 80° in the lobby. Both our room and my sister in law’s room were so hot that no one slept well. Breakfast was not good- juice machine was broken, fruit was squishy and eggs were watery. One of the two elevators were broken, there were lines of 20-30 people waiting every time we used the elevator. Beds were tiny and uncomfortable. Bathroom was tiny, sink felt like an airplane sink- we couldn’t fill our water bottles in the sink it was so small. No bar or comfy chairs in the lobby. $50 to park at the hotel with multiple garages within 2 blocks being $20 to park. One extra star given for location- excellent spot for the Christmas parade but I will never stay at this hotel again.

My stay at the Holiday Inn Express in downtown Denver was an absolute nightmare, and I'll never set foot in that wretched place again. If you're considering staying there, I strongly urge you to rethink it – this is a review I never thought I'd write, but the sheer awfulness demands it. The first night was a horror show. Imagine the power going out in the entire hotel while you're showering, leaving you with this unsettling, creepy feeling. And to top it off, the room temperature stayed at a toasty 75 degrees for my entire stay, despite the front desk's empty promises that it would cool down. They handed me a measly box fan like it was some grand solution, but the nights were still a sweaty, uncomfortable mess. Now, let's talk about the grand finale on my last night – a bed bug crawling across the hotel pillow. I'm no stranger to these pests, working in a public health clinic, and I immediately knew what I was dealing with. The front desk assured me someone would check it out. A maintenance person, admitting he wasn't an expert, agreed it looked like a bedbug and promised someone would contact me. But, of course, I needed to speak to a manager. After what felt like an eternity, I went to the lobby, demanding to talk to a manager tonight. When I finally got a call, the manager was as cold and insensitive as they come, repeating that he's no bedbug expert and offering to move me to another room and conduct an investigation. No empathy. No concern. When I asked for extra clothing to prevent spreading these bugs, he just said no. I dragged myself and my belongings to another room, and let me tell you, that night was pure misery – zero sleep and constant paranoia. The next day, during my professional conference, I find another bed bug on my shoe. I hand it to the manager, who still lacks any compassion and insists on an investigation before acknowledging it's a bedbug. My request for laundry facilities gets shut down. Feeling utterly belittled, I return home to a call confirming bedbug activity. The assistant general manager was apologetic, promising a refund and discussions about my damaged professional clothing. But here's the kicker: I wake up on November 12th with my arms covered in itchy bug bites. When I try to reach the manager, it's a dead end – no calls, rejected emails, and false email addresses. I decide to escalate things to the corporate office, pouring out my infuriating experience. Their receptionist promises urgency, but 48 hours later, still no response. This infuriating ordeal has left me seething with anger and frustration. I've contact headquarters on 11/17/23, 11/21/2023, 12/7/2023, and TODAY.
