Long weekend in York. Hotel staff excellent. Good food especially breakfast. Bar & Dinner prices not bad. Easy to get into York on number 4 bus opposite. Beds comfortable and air con works well. Bathroom small ... You need to open door completely to get in then stand over toilet to shut it !! But very clean. Would certainly return. Well done !

Comfortable dog friendly hotel right next to Yorks famous race course. This place suited our needs recently when we came upto visit the area whilst bringing our pet dog. Nice bar area and restaurant. Dogs can sit in the bar, but can't go in to the restaurant. However, owners can still eat in the bar.

Perfect location for visiting York. 20 minute walk £8 taxi fare or £2 bus to city centre. Hotel is lovely inside with nice bar and breakfast room. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room a bit snug but we got a super deal last minute so can not complain. 840 bus leaves outside hotel straight to Leeds city centre and £2 to the airport on the A1 flyer.

Not too far out from the town, nice size rooms and the main entrance look nice with the stone floor. Few minor problems that could be improved on, such as putting a full soap bottle In instead of leaving it empty for when the next guest to walk in on,(just told reception and within 4-5 minutes had house keeping to refill them, very quick) couple of stanse on the pillow cases but told the front desk and they changed them I'm instantly and a few more things that is just attention to detail whitch makes it feel nicer. Also, I don't know if it was to do with the weather, but the Internet is not 100% kept kicking me off. Apart from the little things, everything was good. The staff are all friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was amazing. Everything was cooked very well and had a good choice of food to help yourself to. The dinner on the first night was nice lovely pizza. They did have some problems with the kitchen, which they warned you as you were being seated, which they also had a smaller menu due to the problem, which is understandable. The hotel has doh friendly rooms, and the bar area is dog friendly. Just need to touch up on the minor things then there would be no problems.
