My recent stay at Zagreb's Academia Hotel was undeniably remarkable. We had chosen a room with a balcony, a feature that held paramount importance, particularly due to my husband's penchant for smoking. The initial impression of the room was promising, complete with all the essentials for a comfortable stay. One of the highlights of our reservation was the prospect of savoring morning coffee on the balcony. However, upon waking up, our excitement dwindled as we discovered the absence of a kettle in the room, despite it being listed among the room's amenities. Keen to resolve the issue, we reached out to the reception. The receptionist, who exhibited exceptional friendliness and a commendable commitment to service, promptly clarified that kettles were provided upon request and were not standard in every room. Though a minor oversight, we were touched by their swift response and dedication to ensuring our comfort. They quickly provided us with a kettle. Yet, we also noted the room lacked coffee mugs and related essentials. Despite these minor inconveniences, our overall experience at Academia Hotel was notably enjoyable. The breakfast spread was sumptuous and diverse, catering to a range of tastes. The room itself exuded spaciousness, ample natural light, and served as a comforting haven after our day's adventures. What truly distinguished our stay was the hotel's gracious gesture. In light of the initial oversights involving the missing kettle and coffee mugs, the hotel opted not to charge us for parking—a service typically priced at 15 euros per day. This act of kindness unequivocally reflected their unwavering commitment to guest satisfaction.

Rooms and other staff were nice but the one male receptionist was really unprofessional. I asked him to give a new towel and he refused. He even blamed that I didn’t accept cleaning in the morning. This is my first hotel in my life that doesn’t have and give towels in a receiption.

Hotel is not up to 4* Receptionist was rude convincing me that i have not provided credit card information when i handed over to the different person during my checking Bathroom tiles covered with black mild and in need of good maintenance Poor linen and mattress Very noisy street under window, impossible to sleep Waiters were great at the breakfast and food was good
