Hotel AKA Boston Common

I cannot say enough about this hotel. It has a great location for the back bay and down town activities. We walked everywhere and it’s right on the t if u want to take it. Happy hour ant 4p and free coffee in the morning was a bonus. Clean with great staff and has a competitive price.

My stay here was incredibly unpleasant, and it stands as the worst experience I've ever had!!! We made our reservation for this hotel through a third-party website, specifically booking a room for “four people”. However, upon our arrival, we were assigned a room with a king bed and an additional roller single bed, forcing three of us sleep in one bed. When we raised this issue, the hotel continually avoided taking responsibility. They claimed the problem originated with the third-party platform and showed no interest in assisting us to resolve the matter or offering alternatives with better service. In fact, they kept reiterating that no quadruple rooms were available with awful attitude. What's even more exasperating is that the room amenities, like towels and water, were only set up for 2-3 people, forcing us to request additional items. But the worst part was yet to come. When the third party attempted to contact the hotel to address the issue, they requested that I inform the front desk about any phone calls or emails. The response from a front desk staff member, who appeared to be of Asian descent, was shockingly impolite and dismissive. He spoke condescendingly, at times using sarcastic questions. I've never been treated like this before! He said” I haven't received any calls or messages from any third-party platform. What do they want to discuss with us? Are they asking for a room change? I've already told you, we have no available rooms." Even if they inquire, we can't assist you. Didn't your companion inform you?" (I even use some better words in the sentence) My sister and I were both taken aback by his attitude, leaving us unsure how to react. Is this how a hotel should treat its customers? What's even more ironic is that when my friend and I lodged a complaint, we confirmed that both the official website and the third-party platform displayed available four-person rooms for reservation that night. I strongly suspect the hotel was unwilling to resolve the issue for us. Even the third party platform told us that the hotel was refuse to reply them with their request with very unfriendly attitude. I've recorded my conversation with the front desk employee and will soon post the audio on major social media platforms to let everyone know about this incident and to prevent others from enduring such unreasonable treatment. I'll exhaust all available channels to address this matter! The hotel's room service was equally disappointing. When I requested something, I had to call and remind them three times before they delivered it, and they still failed to provide enough. To make matters worse, the water in the bathtub was discolored. I'm not one to typically leave reviews, but this experience compelled me to share it with you.
