5 stars for value and staff. Good small/medium hotel in the middle of the Downtown Crossing area. Staff are uniformly friendly. Our room was medium sized and quiet, but a bit dark, and it only faced an air shaft. The check-in person represented accurately, saying that the rooms facing the street are brighter but smaller and more exposed to street noise. They don't charge for snacks in the rooms, and give you several free drinks at the bar upon arrival. Elevators are quick. Internet was good, but appeared to have a streaming blocker installed. The location is super central: many things are within walking distance, and being close to the nexus of the major "T" lines makes getting places by public transport very easy. The only drawback is that this area has a lot of street people (by East Coast standards). I would ordinarily give this place 4 stars, but considering the price paid, which is quite low for this area, and the friendly staff, I'm giving 5.

Outstanding hotel! Perfect location and the most accommodating staff. Booked from Florida and the communication was impressive. The staff went above & beyond to ensure my better half was comfortable and fell in love with my hometown. Thanks to all! 🙏

Small sized rooms and the hallways are a bit to navigate the first time. The lobby bar is a nice touch and the free snacks in the room as part of whatever urban feel they are going for. The coffee shop attached to the hotel made for easy grub first thing. Not sure I'd stay there again on a work trip but it's in the heart of a nice shopping district. Only downfall is the district is overrun with vagrants but a decent police presence in the area.

So rare that you find a this level of execution in the hotel industry. For starts, the staff are ALL very warm, nice and highly professional. So impressed from the door to the housekeeping to the front desk, everyone made you feel like you were an important guest. The hotel itself is clean, nicely appointed.Bed was comfortable, bathroom fully functional and easy to use if typically small as city hotels tend to be. We really enjoyed out 1 day/night at the Godfrey and recommend it completely. Location is a block from Boston Commons, a short walk up Beacon Hill to head toward Quincy Market or the North End, another short walk in the opposite direction to the shopping area of Newbury St. Thanks Godfrey staff for making our staying enjoyable.

We stayed at this hotel after a cruise for two nights. It is beautiful from the moment you walk in, there are men at the door that open the door for you almost all the time the bellman who took our bags initially, was one of the most helpful individuals there, we had gotten there early and he held our bags for us until our room was ready. After some time, we were still waiting for our room and he encouraged me to go up to the desk and check and one of our two rooms was ready so we could go up to rest until the other one was ready. The rooms are gorgeous and spacious and very comfortable complementary snacks, and water, which is rare for hotels to offer these days. The gym has flavored water and there is an amazing Coffee shop and restaurant attached to this hotel. You can't go wrong! I would highly recommend this establishment and hope to stay again someday. We were on the fifth floor. We did hear the subway underneath faintly from time to time, but it was not intolerable. If you don't like to hear it at all, I would just suggest to request a higher level, but it did not take away from our stay at all, just a sidenote. The bathrooms and shower are amazing, excellent pressure and a light that comes on at night when you walk in that is blue, loved it. This hotel is also central to so many things. It is a ideal place if you want to see a variety of things in the downtown area.
